As we look ahead to a new academic year, we're reflecting on some of the fantastic achievements from last year.

🏅 We were proud to see our Lotus Academy, Sheffield, receive the Physical Literacy in PESSPA (PE, School Sport and Physical Activity) Award at the Sheffield Schools Get Active Awards, recognising their commitment to inclusive sport and physical activity for all students.

From mountain biking and boxing to swimming, ice skating and abseiling, our students are always encouraged to build confidence, develop new skills and discover activities they enjoy.

A huge well done to everyone who helped make this achievement possible. 👏

Congratulations to Lana Stoyles, our Executive Director, who has been named a finalist in the Women in Education category at the BESA Awards 2026. 🏆

Nexus Sports Day held at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield! 🏃‍♀️🏅🏃‍♂️

Pupils and staff had an amazing time taking part, cheering each other on, and creating memories together. The energy, enthusiasm and team spirit on display made for a truly special day.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in organising the event and, most importantly, to our wonderful pupils for making the day such a success. 💙

Our team at Bader Academy, Doncaster have been deepening their practice in high-quality maths teaching through the Teaching for Mastery - 5 Big Ideas👏

A huge thank you to Emma for sharing brilliant examples of our upper school students using manipulatives and visual representations to really unpick mathematical concepts. These powerful snapshots became part of a wider CPD journey, helping staff explore how these approaches can unlock deeper thinking across the curriculum.

Using manipulatives helps all students:

✔ Understand the structure behind the maths
✔ Reduce cognitive load
✔ Build confidence in reasoning and problem-solving
