Introducing our Family Scrapbooks!
We recently requested that our families send us updated family photos for the children to share within the nursery, we got so many that we decided to make a scrapbook for each room that will be readily available in the reading corners for the children to look through at all points of the day!
Having a book or board or an area where the children can see their families is so valuable as it bridges the gap between home and nursery. It provides a physical anchor for any child who is missing loved ones and gives them an opportunity to feel connected. The children have already loved looking through and introducing peers to their parents and animals and is sparking excitement through every page ๐
If you haven't sent across your family photos we all do encourage you to as this has been lovely to see how the children are reacting to them โค๏ธ

PERIMOUNTS FIRST GRADUATION ๐
There may have only been a few but their personality shone so bright, it's been fantastic watching you guys grow and blossom in every new adventure we've been on together. It has been an absolute pleasure to know you and we hope you have the best time at big school and show them just how amazing we already know you are... The world is yours now ๐๐
We celebrated our graduation back in July and it's not quite felt the same since, the celebration we had was as amazing as our school leavers ๐งโ๐ They got to walk the red carpet and receive their certificate whilst being cheered on from their peers, received a personalised bear and then the party really began, with pass the parcel ๐ gift bags, out door games and a huge dance party... It's been a blast you guys and we wish you luck on everything you do... From your Perimount Teachers!

Today the toddlers have experimented with Straw Painting๐งโ๐จ
This challenged the children's idea of how painting should be done, and introducing new ways to create pictures with paint and exploring how paint behaves with different tools๐ซ. This also offers more development opportunities than just their creativity as it builds oral-motor strength, improves breath control, and enhances emotional self-regulation through deep breathing whilst fostering open-ended creativity, teaching early physics ideas and color mixing concepts ๐จ
The toddlers really enjoyed this new challenge and asked for mor and more paper once they had completed their pictures to do another one. They found the splatting and spreading of the paint so funny as they laughed and giggled away, finding their own way of doing things as some held the straw in their mouth dragging it through the paint and across the paper ๐ ๐ฌ๏ธ

Today we experimented with Puffy Paint and made some ice creams ๐ฆ
Puffy Paint is a mix of shaving foam, glue and paint and supports development by providing unique tactile experience, enhancing motor skills, and encouraging sensory exploration as it offers a distinct, 3D texture that standard paints cannot๐จ. The sensory benefits are unlike many activities that are most common as it provides the sensory exploration of touch, sight and smell. It also allows for the children to understand the concept of spatial awareness as the soft fluffy texture has a raised border that the children can physically see connecting their creativity to tactile reality.
Toddlers always enjoy anything creative and especially trying something new and exciting and something they don't expect. We had this idea because one of our friends mentioned having ice cream over the weekend so and said "keeps cold" ๐ฅถso off we went to make our very own ๐จ

SPLAT... ITS ART ATTACK!
Today babies explored a new way to paint.๐จ๐จโ๐จ We squeezed paint blobs out and the table and then covered it with cling film. We then let the children freely explore this activity. This mess free activity offered lots of benefits for the children as it still provides that sensory experience in a new and a fun way, as they watched pain be squeezed out but some showed confusion as to why it wasn't on their hands. It can help improve their fine motor skills as they push and move the paint around whilst exploring colours and mixing them together๐. We expanded on this by adding cars and seeing what marks their wheels made through the paint.๐
Babies really enjoyed this as they giggled and babbled away to each other ๐

On Tuesday babies had a blast with some sensory shakers !!
The shakers were filled with a variety of materials to provide a visual and auditory experience. They help to develop many areas of learning such as supporting their motor skills when shaking them but introducing a cause and effect understanding as they see how different materials create different noises.
Babies really enjoyed this and explored in a variety of ways some shaking them, some drumming and some even building towers to knock over so they could hear the noise as they fell!

Today in Toddler Room, we made Stained Glass Sun Catchers ๐โ๏ธ
Using some laminating sheets we made patterns with coloured cellophane and tissue paper before watching the magic happen as it travelled through the laminator and melted together. The toddlers found this fascinating and were eager to show their teachers the creations they had made โบ๏ธ
