Fair Pay = Teachers Stay

✊ Thousands of teachers from across England are out on strike today fighting for a fair, fully funded pay deal!

Why are teachers striking? The government chooses not to provide sufficient funding for education. They wanted 4% of the proposed 4.5% pay rise for next year to come from existing school budgets. We want a FULLY-FUNDED, inflation-matching pay rise.

Teachers are arriving at school early to keep warm. Our members tell us they are struggling to make ends meet. Govt's latest pay and funding offer was an insult.

We will be taking strike action tomorrow and 2 May.

In new research from The Sutton Trust and National Foundation for Educational Research, 71 per cent of senior leaders reported difficulties with recruiting teachers this year.

The Government needs to make a fair pay offer to alleviate the recruitment crisis.
