Our BSc students are looking at how weaning style impacts your family’s diet.
We are hoping for some families to complete a short questionnaire now and again after they have started to feed their baby solid foods, in June/July (followed up by our MSc students).
There will be some additional questions about your and your baby’s diet at each time point. There is more information about the study and a consent button at the link.
Any questions, comments or queries can be added at the end of the survey. Our contact details are also there.
Many thanks to anyone who can spare a few minutes to support or share this questionnaire

Can you help?
Our MSc students are looking at weaning styles and potential differences in dietary intake between weaning styles.
Whether you follow a traditional (spoon-feeding) approach, a baby-led approach or a mixture of styles which suit your family, They would be really interested in your experience and very grateful if you could complete a questionnaire (taking around 10-15 mins) about how you are weaning your baby. There are also some additional questions about yours and your baby’s diet.
There is more information about the study in the link and the opportunity to ask any questions or comments at the end of the survey.

We had a great online open day yesterday and it was great talking to those who popped by for a chat.
If you couldn't make the online event then don't worry, we're here to help you!
The Hallam Food and Nutrition social media is run by a current student on one of our courses who is always happy to assist you and if they can't then they can tag someone who can whether it's a fellow student or lecturer.
If you think your question will help others too then drop it in the comments, alternatively, DMs are always open.

While there are great eating options in all the City Campus buildings, sometimes you just want to grab something a little different to fuel you at lunch time. Sheffield is brimming with amazing eateries so picking a few to showcase can be difficult but here are three great options, no more than a five or so minute walk away from the Owen building.
serves up a mean Mexican feast including burritos, tacos and nachos, just the way you like them. Located on Arundel Street, only a minute from our Cantor building. This place is perfect for a quick lunch or end of day meet up with friends.
is simply hummus and pita bread but don't expect the food to be simple! The freshest of ingredients are crammed into warm pitas for a taste explosion that will fuel you for the rest of the day. Slightly off campus, located on Leopold Street, it's a 5 minute-ish walk but well worth the visit.
is a relaxed cafe offering fine coffee and simple meals that can be enjoyed at any time of the day. You can't miss the white building on Arundel just up from Cantor so make sure you pop in, even if it's just for a cake and coffee.
Obviously, at the time of posting, all venues are closed or offering limited services due to Covid-19 but once everything is up and running again here are 3 venues you have to give a try!

There is no doubt about it, Sheffield is one of THE BEST places for not only a good night out but also some amazing food! The city reaches out over such a wide area that it's impossible to cover it all in one grid post so let's focus on Kelham Island first.
Kelham Island is about a 30 minute walk from the Student Union, there are regular buses and trams that will drop you off or the option of a taxi. It is one of the newest and fantastic areas in the city. Boasting more places to eat and drink than I can possibly list. If you're interested to learn more about this area then check out - I'm focusing on 3 fantastic venues today.
is an all in one night out. It's the largest food hall in the north with multiple eateries and places to drink ranging from pizza and burgers to desserts and coffee.
fun is Sheffield's 100% vegan barcade. Owned by the lead singer of local band, Bring Me The Horizon, it has everything you could possibly want for a relaxing evening - great music, amazing drinks and arcade machines. In addition to the arcade machines, there are also 3 pods set up with games consoles.
is a once a month event when a range of food and drinks merchants, as well as entertainment, come together for a weekend of good times. The first weekend of the month sees some of the countries finest food businesses invade Sheffield to showcase their menus. Keep an eye out for the cheesecake - it's lush!
Obviously, at the time of posting, all venues are closed due to Covid-19 but once everything is up and running again here are 3 venues to check out first.
What's your favourite place at Kelham Island?
