Hallam cycling representing at BUCS hill climb on Saturday. Lots of support for everyone that flew past is always great to be a part of. Cheers to the lot for bringing the noise. We’ll be back next year probably for some more uphill suffering. Also a pie at tav to end the day really was the icing on the cake for our Josh.

It’s nearlllyy Wednesday ( I should’ve made and posted this already) and that means social time. This weeks theme is dress as your course. Very easy one to participate in but the best outfit will win a prize. We will announce details of pres on WhatsApp tomorrow as well as the ticket link for national being there and on our stories too. We look forward to seeing you down there soon. Don’t forget you dancing shoes people.

This year’s final fresher’s road ride will be this Wednesday the 2nd of October! Both newbies and returning members are welcome to ride!

Dear freshers and returning members,

We hope you’ve been able to get out for a ride with us in the last couple of weeks, or you can come on one of our last freshers rides this week.

Here are the details and what we have to offer for Hallam Cycling this year!

The membership deadline is 23:59pm on Tuesday 8th of October - no more memberships will be allowed after this date (this is for all sports clubs, not just us). So if you are planning on bringing your bike up and joining us later in the year, you will need to purchase a membership before this date.

The first Wednesday social is upon us. Its shirt and sharpie theme. Bring your old white shirt you don’t mind getting drawn on or source yourself a fresh one especially, we’re not fussed. There will be a pres to meet everyone (location in WhatsApp chats or DM us for it) before we head into town to get stuck into a Wednesday night out in Sheffield. As always remember your ID and we will see you there.

Our freshers road ride is going out this Wednesday 25th from collegiate campus (collegiate crescent entrance) at 1:45pm. This will be a friendly pace no drop ride to keep everyone enjoying themselves. Helmets and lights required to ride. Drop us a dm if you have any questions.

First rides! For all you MTB folk our freshers rides will be going out on Saturdays (21st & 28th) at 1:00pm over the next couple of weekends. We will be going on a mixture of trails to assess everyone’s skill levels and ensure everyone’s enjoying themselves. Meet at the hubs (Hallam students union) and we will ride out as a group from there. You must be self sufficient on a ride please make sure you have any spares snacks and hydration you may need as well as your helmet. ——- roadies don’t worry info to follow on freshers road ride soon.

The all important sign up! Come and join us at the sports fair this Wednesday 18th September 10am - 4pm at Ponds Forge to get all the info on how to become a part of Hallam Cycling. We will be on the stand ready to answer any questions you might have.

As all our new students are packing for the upcoming year wed like to remind you to add your bikes to that list and join us for our all our future rides. Don’t forget your helmets and other riding kit too.

As the start of the year approaches it’s probably time to introduce you to you 2024/25 Hallam cycling committee. A fine selection of individuals uniquely suited to saying ‘yeah I don’t mind doing that job this year’ that will get us through. Here’s a brief run down and we look forward joining you all soon.
