A illegal boat migrant released from jail was given the keys to a taxpayer-funded £250,000 Cardiff home two days before he committed a sickening s*x crime against a pair of young girls.
Two young sisters woke to find a stranger exposing himself in their bedroom doorway — just two days after he was moved into Home Office accommodation following his release from custody.
Mohammed Abbas, 29, entered the family’s Cardiff home at around 2am on July 30 while the children slept.
One girl was under 13 and the other under 16.
Terrifyingly, they woke to find Abbas exposing and playing with himself in their bedroom doorway.
Their screams alerted their parents to the intruder.
Abbas has now admitted two offences of engaging in s*xual activity in the presence of a child for s*xual gratification.
He also pleaded guilty to trespassing with intent to commit a s*xual offence and burglary, having stolen a phone and AirPods from the house.
Abbas arrived in Britain by dinghy from France in March and says he is Palestinian.
By June, he was being held on remand facing allegations including assaulting a police officer and assault by beating.
At Coventry Magistrates’ Court on July 14, he was ordered to complete 300 hours of unpaid work and fined £100.
Separate charges of s*xual assault and common assault were dismissed after no evidence was offered.
Following his release, Abbas was moved into a two-bedroom Cardiff property provided by the Home Office. The house was worth £250,000 and that he was its sole occupant at the time.
Two days after moving in, he entered the sisters’ home.
Their mother said the family did not know Abbas and remained unsure how he had got inside.
“We didn’t know him and don’t know why he picked our house,”
Abbas entered his guilty pleas at Cardiff Crown Court in September and was remanded in custody.
He is due to be sentenced in November for the offences that left two children screaming in their own home.
