Huge congratulations to my superstar client and all-round mega babe, Claire (Claire 'Titch' Hirst), who absolutely smashed her first-ever British Gymnastics Championships, finishing an incredible 3rd overall! šŸ„‰āœØ

I’d love to take full credit and say it’s all down to her monthly chiropractic wellbeing check-ups… šŸ˜‚

But in reality, this achievement is the result of Claire’s unwavering dedication to her sport, her commitment to training, and the consistent way she prioritises her health and wellbeing. Success like this doesn’t happen by accident—it comes from showing up, putting in the work, and trusting the process.

I’m so proud to play a small part in supporting her journey. Congratulations, Claire. What an achievement, and what a champion you are! šŸ’ŖšŸ¤øā€ā™€ļøāœØā¤ļø

Antenatal and post natal care ā¤ļø

I treat everybody, every body, and every age. I love getting to know my clients, building relationships rooted in trust, and creating a space where people can truly let go and move into healing.

But at the core of who I am, I’m a girls’ girl through and through, and nothing fulfils me more than supporting women through the transitional and pivotal stages of life.

There is something incredibly special about caring for a woman throughout her pregnancy journey, then finally getting to meet the beautiful little soul she’s brought into the world.

My heart is full ā¤ļø

Chiropractic is such a varied and rewarding profession, which is exactly why I love it. I work with people of all ages, helping with a wide range of concerns using a variety of techniques tailored to the individual. My care goes beyond treatment alone, I also offer lifestyle advice, supportive exercises, and guidance around stress management to help create lasting change. I genuinely pour my heart and soul into every patient interaction.

If you come to see me as a new patient, you’ll be welcomed into a safe, supportive space where you can talk openly and feel truly heard. You’ll receive a thorough, holistic consultation and examination, followed by a clear report of findings and personalised management plan. We’ll review your progress regularly and work together every step of the way. My aim is that you leave not only feeling better, but feeling cared for and like you’ve found someone in your corner.

My diary is pretty busy over the next few weeks, my next new patient appointment is Monday 12th May.

I love this quote by James Clear

ā€œEvery action you take is a vote for the type of person you wish to becomeā€

I talk about this a lot in clinic. It’s the small changes, made consistently over long periods of time that create significant change…..

If you want to be a morning person…..start setting an alarm 15min earlier.

You want to be more active…. use this 15 min to have a short brisk walk.

You want to lose weight….decrease your portion size slightly.

You want to be less sedentary at work….. use your lunch break to have a walk or introduce walking meetings with your colleagues.

You want to be less stressed……. commit to 10 minutes meditation a day which has been shown to decrease anxiety and improve mental health.

Small changes are easier to implement than larger more restrictive changes that we then cannot maintain in the longer term. What changes can you make to move yourself closer to the person you wish to become?

One of my favourite appointment types is the post natal check up. It’s a longer appointment where we spend some time debriefing the birth process, what went well and what was challenging. Holding space to process some of the emotion, support the new born mama and help her to let go of anything that no longer needs to be carried.

We correct anything structurally that needs correcting and talk about any self care measures that need to be implemented and a return to exercise, if appropriate and how that might look like for that individual person.

I always offer my post natal mums a free new baby well being check up as a thank you for putting their trust in me through their pregnancy.

It’s the most beautiful and rewarding appointment for me after supporting a woman through her pregnancy, to meet the new member of the family and also an opportunity to nurture the new mum with love and support in what is a glorious and precious but also exhausting and vulnerable stage of life.

I really love my job ā¤ļø

So this week we’ve had Meadowhead A level student, Lola on work placement, experiencing all aspects of working in and running a clinic. Thank you to all our clients who agreed to allow Lola to observe their appointments and to our fabulous reception team for showing Lola the ropes of all the admin and back of house jobs that go into running a busy and thriving practice.
Hopefully we have showed her what a great profession Chiropractic is, how much it can change people’s lives and how enjoyable it is as a career. Future chiropractor incoming maybe? Watch this space! šŸ‘€

I haven’t got the time….

Here’s your little heads up from the universe. Life is busy, we are never going to have the time to do everything we want to pack into every hour of every day.

It’s not about finding the time
It’s about MAKING the time.

What’s important to you? What are your priorities and your health goals? Then you make the time to take the small steps required to move you forwards towards that end goal.

āļø You want to remain active, mobile and independent in your older years?
šŸ’” MAKE time for balance exercises and strength training and treating your aches and pains before they reduce your mobility and lead to loss of strength.

āļø You want to feel less stressed, overwhelmed or anxious?
šŸ’” MAKE the time to add daily meditation or mindfulness exercises into your daily routine to help retrain your nervous system.

āļø You want to become more active and lose weight? šŸ’” MAKE the time to move your body regularly and plan your meals and cook from scratch over choosing convenient ultra processed foods.

āļø You want to get rid of that nagging injury and return to exercise fully and pain free?
šŸ’” MAKE the time to commit to a course of treatment and do the recommended exercises and make the recommended lifestyle changes.

It’s a case of working out what your priorities are. What is actually important to you? Then make the time to make it happen. There is no better investment than in your one, precious, healthy and happy life. This is the only body you’ll ever have, treat it well.

Another day another new class incoming!……

Introducing Gaynor Hague who will be offering Yin Yoga classes on a Thursday lunchtime.

What is Yin Yoga and why do I need it?šŸ§˜ā€ā™€ļøāœØ

In a world that constantly tells us to go faster, do more, and push harder, Yin Yoga is your permission slip to be still. While most exercise focuses on your muscles, Yin goes deeper—targeting the connective tissues, ligaments, and fascia that often hold onto our deepest tension.

Why Yin is the ultimate ā€œFuture-Proofingā€ tool:

Deep Structural Release: By holding floor-based poses for several minutes, we encourage the fascia to hydrate and release. This isn’t just a stretch; it’s about opening the body from the inside out, improving joint mobility, and easing that ā€œstiffā€ feeling we often carry into our 40s and 50s.

The Nervous System Reset: Yin is a direct line to your parasympathetic nervous system (the ā€˜rest and digest’ mode). It lowers cortisol, slows the heart rate, and creates a profound sense of mental clarity. It’s the perfect antidote to burnout and the ā€œalways-onā€ mental load.

A Practice of Presence: Holding stillness teaches us how to breathe through discomfort and stay centered when things feel tight or stressful. It’s a mental training ground for resilience that stays with you long after you leave the mat.

Whether you’re looking to recover from intense training, manage the transitions of menopause, or simply find a quiet corner in a loud world, Yin is where the transformation happens.
