We love this funky fungi which appeared after Steve from Totley Tree Care felled a storm damaged silver birch at Bradway Primary School! What a magical talking point!

⚔️Wild Wilf's Forest School Holiday Club Day 9⚔️
Today saw some absolutely brilliant stick sword fighting! The fantastic interactions between the children was wonderful to behold...checking in with each other, adjusting, being sensitive and empathetic, managing disagreements and (slight) injuries 👍 🩹.
This is why we do what we do.
A play based childhood. What we all remember!

Thank you to all our Forest Families for booking with us this summer. See you in the autumn! 🐺💚

🦉 Wild Wilf's Forest School Holiday Club Day 8🦉
We started today with the discovery of a dead owl! What a privilege to hold such a beautiful animal (with gloved hands) and get a close up view of it's soft feathers, sharp talons and huge eyes! It also provoked some interesting conversations about the ciiiiiircle of liiiiife 🦁 👑
Then there was the usual excitement of mud kitchen creating ☕ sword fighting ⚔️ den building 🌳lots of chasing 🏃🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ and sweet snacks on the fire 🍢🔥
Delightful 🙂

🐈‍⬛Wild Wilf's Forest School Holiday Club Day 7🐈‍⬛
We had a black cat visit the woods today who the children decided to name Buttons. A sign of good luck? Possibly. Those lucky enough to be there today had a fantastic time making new friends 👍taking care of younger children 🚸 tackling the ninja obstacle course 🥷hiding and seeking 🫥and enjoying sugary snacks at the fire 🔥. Purrrrfect.

🌬️🍃Wild Wilf's Forest School Holiday Club Day 6🍃
A windy wonderland today. We kept a close eye on the canopy and compared the varied susurration between different trees! It sounded like waves on the beach! We managed to practise fire lighting despite the gusts as well as making "wind dancers" to play with, out on the school field.

🐒Wild Wilf's Forest School Holiday Club Day 5🐒
What a lot of monkeying around we had today with the introduction of a slackline! It was great to see the children working together to set it up and support each other to traverse the gap between the trees. It definitely didn't get over tensioned and certainly wasn't tricky AT ALL to take down this evening 😬😮‍💨

🌥️🐺Wild Wilf's Forest School Holiday Club Day 4🐺🌥️
The saying goes that "play is the work of childhood" so we played hard and worked hard today! Lots of negotiations, winning and losing, leadership battles, turn taking and waiting our turn. Absolutely fantastic! 😊

🌥️Wild Wilf's Forest School Holiday Club Day 3🌥️
Turned out nice again! Another fabulous day in the woods. Finding buried treasure, swinging and swaying, whittling Blades, taking out our black shoes and playing lots of tig. 🔥🍢🐺
