My name is Rebecca Joy and I am a OFSTED Registered Childminder, I aim to provide a quality childminding service that exceeds the minimum standards required by Ofsted and that is tailored to your family needs. Childminding is more than just a job to me, I am passionate about providing every child in my care the opportunity to not only reach his or her full potential, but also to experience a warm, loving, home based environment. I believe in working in partnership with parents/ carers, as without their knowledge about their child, I cannot provide the play based curriculum which is planned around each child’s interests, likes, stage of development and family experiences. I have a lovely home based setting which has plenty of equipment and resources appropriate to different ages and stages. I work within The Early Years Foundation Stage 2014 framework (EYFS) which provides assurance to parents that I will keep their children safe and help them to reach their full potential. To ensure all the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage 2014 are met, I provide a commitment to the following:-

To provide a warm, welcoming and stimulating home environment, this will help foster positive relationships with the children in my care. Therefore helping ensure their individual physical and emotional needs are met enabling each child to progress towards reaching their full potential. To offer children a continuity of care in a home environment where they are valued as a member of my extended ‘family unit’
Ensure that by following the EYFS and my policies every child in my care flourishes and that no child is disadvantaged for any reason
To work in partnership with parents and all other professionals involved with the child including other settings and health professionals to ensure that every child is at the centre of the team of professionals supporting that child. To use information from parents/ carers and skills in ‘listening to the views of young children’ to ensure each child’s needs, interests, likes and dislikes, and stage of development is taken into consideration when planning for that individual child. To use observations and informal assessment to note progress and to plan a play based curriculum. Please feel free to contact me for further information and to check vacancy availability.

Nature provides the best learning opportunities!

What started as a broken branch we found turned into a brilliant little learning opportunity, the conkers inside the spiky cases weren’t quite ready so we popped the branch in water to help, we took a closer look at what was happening inside... conkers still nestled inside their cases, some beginning to split open, and the different stages of the conker developing.
A lovely child-led nature investigation.. looking closely, asking questions, making observations and learning about how trees produce and protect their seeds. 🌳🍂

20 years as an Ofsted Registered Childminder 🥹

20 years of little people coming through my door, muddy clothes, messy play, endless stories, cuddles, laughter, tears, milestones, first friendships and so many memories that I’ll never forget.

I’ve had the absolute privilege of being a tiny part of so many children’s journeys, watching them grow from little ones into confident, independent children, and then sending them off on their next adventure.

Some I’ve known for just a short time, others have been part of my life for years, and every single one has left their own little mark ❤️

Here’s to all the children, parents and families who have trusted me along the way... thank you for letting me be part of your journey 🫶🏼
