We've been sneaking a couple if extra options into the library recently!

Mesh carriers have been (predictably) popular this summer, so we've added an extra minimonkey Baby carrier to our hire stock (love the magnetic buckles!) and this one is already being enjoyed by one of our families 🤗

We've also added a Toddler (6m+) size, still exploring how this one adapts to a range of people/babies, but a couple of our volunteers have had a go already and so far we like it a lot!

This, and many many other summer carriers available now, get in touch if you need help choosing!

How are the summer holidays treating everybody?

Tomorrow we have our final July drop-in session at Norfolk Park (find us in the shade somewhere close to the cafe/playgrounds) with a big old pile of woven wraps, ring slings and meh dais, so come and have a play!

Can't quite believe that after that it's August already (they'll be back to school before we know it 😭) so we've also got our monthly Saturday session coming up this weekend.

Please note that the August Hillsborough session is in the park; our usual hosts RivelinCo have a pre-existing booking to honour, so we are embracing the summer and heading outdoors. All other sessions unchanged at our usual venues!

Hires and consultations available as usual throughout the summer holidays, so whether you are just getting started, learning to back carry or ready to move onto the next size or style of carrier for you, book in to see how we can help!

Dates and bookings are now open for the autumn blocks of our 4th Trimester course and the 5T course for older babies, so grab your spot now if you'd like to get involved.

Where are slings and carriers taking you this summer?

This Saturday!

Back carrying is such a game changer for getting things done, carrying bigger babies for longer, surviving heatwaves and more!

If you lack confidence or would appreciate the chance to practice the moves with a demo doll, then this for you.

We'll cover a couple of different methods for getting baby up (and back down) safely and independently, and you'll have chance to practice and support to try it for real. Bring your own carrier or learn with one of ours. Tips for comfort, monitoring, and carrying stuff also covered.

Just three places left, so don't hang around!

*Aimed at 6m+ babies. If you need to back carry a younger baby book in for a consultation to help

Are you prepping for festival season? You remembered the tent. You remembered the extra clothes. But you may have forgotten that the main stage is basically a wall of sound.

We keep Baby Banz ear defenders at the Sling Library for exactly this moment. Pop them on, your baby goes from being “wide-eyed and overwhelmed” to “asleep on your chest during the bass drop.” They’re soft, adjustable, and they come in colours like Lagoon Blue, Petal Pink, Peace and Kaleidoscope — so you can match them to your festival attire.

Hire for them for Tramlines weekend and return Monday. Or buy and keep them for weddings, watching the football, or bonfire night.

Book or buy online or swing by the Scotia Works and collect is from us.

HEATWAVE alert! This is a public service announcement. There are no prizes for perseverance especially when it's so hot out. Slings are fabulous, but if your little one will cope with being put down then we'd urge you to indulge them for the next few days. But if you must then keep it to a minimum and take them out for regular breaks. Your sweaty body and baby will both thank you for it.
