End the summer holidays with a special day of art and creativity in the woods! And to celebrate the summer holidays coming to an end I've put all remaining tickets for this event on SALE!

Child was £12 now £8
Adult was £2 now £1

I want to get as many families as possible out into nature exploring big, messy, open ended process art! We'll be experimenting with natural dyes, colour changing magic, rolling things down the hill, pendulum painting from tree swings, art amongst the trees and oh so much more! Our wonderful artist Michelle is really creating something special for this day!

Please help me share this far and wide so we can make this last event of summer sell out!

Head out for a walk to gather blackberries then grab some old clothes, some string and a bucket!

Step 1

Mash 1 cup of blackberry's add 1 cup of hot water and 1 table spoon of salt. Add another 2 cups of cold water - mix and mash some more!

Step 2

Wrap/fold/tie your clothes and submerge in the dye mix, leave to soak

Step 3

Squeeze out liquid, untie strings and hang to dry

Step 4

Rinse in cold water later to wash off any bits of berry and excess dye!

Experiment

Adding vinegar, lemon juice and bicarbonate of soda changes the PH of the dye changing the colour! Create different buckets to test it out in. The kids enjoyed dipping their items into the different dyes to create cool effects.

Gotta post my our Eclipse evening for the memories. I want to be reminded of this moment!

We made predictions about what would happen (Harvey thought the sky would go bright orange!) and wondered about what nocturnal animals might do. We learnt a little about the science, the solar systems and worked out the maths about how old we'll all be at the next one...and how old mummy was in 1999. We had a moment where we discovered our Eclipse glasses were different to our mates and we'd all been seeing it a little differently!

There was fun projections with the collander, scrambling on rocks, an atmospheric howling husky, mega traffic jams and finding friends to enjoy the moment with.

It was totally magic and we made some special memories. Thank you moon for your magic ✨️ 🌚☀️🌙🫶

Are you booked on for The Great Blackberry Festival tomorrow?!

A couple of things

1. Please bring along something to tie dye! Cotton or natural fabrics work best, not too big so we have space in the pan (socks, shorts, tshirt, sunhat, muslin cloth etc) I have some fabric squares and cotton tote bags so if you dont have anything you will have something to use.

2. Please wear old clothes you don't mind getting stained - there's gonna be a lot of blackberries...blackberries everywhere!

3. Yes the weather is hot but there are lots of brambles, nettles, bugs and ticks about. Please wear trousers and trainers (not sandals or crocs) to protect feet and legs from bites and scratches

4. Please bring plenty of water to drink, hats and suncream!

5. There will be NO CAMPFIRE but all activities described will still go ahead with adaptations. The risk is simply to high and not worth it! It would be totally irresponsible of me to light a fire tomorrow. I want to be honest and so you can manage expectations with children ahead of the session.

But without my team of cheerleaders who book my sessions, share my stuff and support me then none of the other stuff could even happen! So even though sometimes doing this on my own can feel a little overwhelming and sometimes I feel like I can't possibly think of any more ideas I am very grateful I get to do it!

Yoga Open House.

Our theme today was SPINNING

We learnt about whats going on for our bodies when we spin! And went on a yoga story adventure with an earth salutation, rolypoly pancakes, bicycles, propellers, spiders and more!

A delicious brunch from the OH team fueled spinning top creations and a barefoot walk finding sycamore seeds and spinning in wide open spaces!

Yoga games, a disco, windmills, partner poses and a big long savasannah to finish 🧘‍♀️ 🧘‍♂️

Sound fun? The good news is there's family yoga on Saturday and were going on an adventure to the beach ⛱️ 🌊 🦭

Bet you haven't! Well today we spent an hour joyfully sneaking up on grasshoppers, beetles, butterflies and other unsuspecting bugs trying to catch them! Shrieks of joy echoed across the field as they yelled 'I got one! I got one!' Before a crowd gathered to inspect what it was.

Track laid out, armed with a tape measure one pretty small grasshopper leaped a staggering 246cm!!! Then children spent a long time trying to leap as far - no one even got close!

The beetle sprint was eventful too with a tiny unidentified underdog taking the win and the enormous violet beetle causing absolute carnage 😂🙈
