πŸ₯πŸ‡«πŸ‡· A huge thank you to Hardcase for supporting our recent trip to France!

Last month, our young musicians travelled to France with a lot of percussion equipment in tow and thanks to Hardcase, we were able to transport it safely and securely.

A special thank you also to Rob, our fantastic Music Technician for collecting the cases and making sure everything was ready before we set off.

Behind every successful performances is a lot of planning, preparation and equipment logistics, so we're incredibly grateful for the support.

Thank you, Hardcase International ! πŸ‡«πŸ‡·

A few weeks ago, we held our Sheffield Music Hub Quiz Night! 🧠✨

It was a joyous evening raising money to support young musicians in our music groups across Sheffield.

Special thanks to our fantastic young comperes, Kady and Will, who did a brilliant job hosting the evening, and to the SMH Friends and Volunteers for their support throughout the quiz and for running the raffle.

Big shout out to Sheffield Young Sinfonia and Intermediate Strings for their wonderful performances (check out some snippets from that here)! 🎻

Also, thank you Crookes Social Club for hosting us, and to everyone who generously donated raffle prizes.

Check out the winning hamper, presented by the Friends and Volunteers of Sheffield Music Hub’s wonderful chair of trustees Julie.

Every pound raised will help us continue creating high-quality, inclusive musical opportunities for young people across the city. πŸŽΆπŸ’š

Every year, we run a session with our Junior Ambassadors for Music (JAMs) to talk about how we can make our music groups even better. Together, we discuss how they can best welcome new young musicians, share the brilliant ways they support their groups, and gather Youth Voice feedback about what Sheffield Music Hub could do better for our young people. ✨🎢

For those who haven't come across them before, each music group has Junior Ambassadors for Music. These young people represent their peers and help shape how our groups run. They welcome new members, support fellow musicians, raise any concerns to staff members, and collect Youth Voice feedback to help us improve.

This year, we did something a little different. As part of Sheffield's bid to become UK City of Culture 2029 (which would be incredible for the city!), Sheffield City Council and Welcome to Sheffield have been asking young people across Sheffield to share their ideas, experiences and ambitions for culture in the city.
Our JAMs had a brainstorming session and came up with loads of fantastic ideas and feedback. Their ideas will now help inform the wider culture bid and ensure that young people's perspectives are part of the conversation.

We also created feedback booklets that were filled in by the young people taking part in our work experience programme, giving them the opportunity to tell us what they want from Sheffield's cultural offer. The last two slides show two of our work experience students filling out their booklets and sharing their thoughts on how the city can continue to grow and inspire young people πŸ’š

Concordia Voices and Festival Band went on tour to France! πŸ‡«πŸ‡·πŸŽΆ

What an absolutely incredible week our young people and staff had in Normandy.

Youth music tours are life-changing experiences, full of joy, excitement and unforgettable memories. They strengthen friendships, bring young musicians together, provide profound musical opportunities, and are some of the most brilliant experiences young musicians can be involved in.

We're so pleased to have been able to facilitate such an excellent tour. Our young musicians were outstanding throughout, delivering amazing performances and getting stuck into all the activities. Thank you all for being such wonderful young people!

Check out our photos and videos from the concerts and activities throughout the week! πŸ“ΈπŸŽ΅βœ¨
