We love hearing how God is at work in the lives of our students.

Claire, a Baptist Minister in Training (MiT) serving in Thetford, Norfolk, shared:

"I absolutely love the pioneering spirit and mission-driven focus here at St Hild. The encouragement and fellowship we all receive through the Ministerial Formation programme are just wonderful."

We're grateful to journey alongside people like Claire as they grow in ministry, mission and discipleship.

🌱 Fresh Beginnings 🌱

A great start to the year as our Baptist students gathered at Whirlow Spirituality Centre for our first Formation Day.

It was a day of worship, reflection, learning, and community as we welcomed a new year together. We're looking forward to all that lies ahead and all that God has in store.

"What can a woman do for God?"

This was one of the questions that shaped the faith journey shared by Lynn Green, General Secretary of the Baptist Union of Great Britain, during her visit to our Community Morning last week.

Over lunch together, Lynn shared her testimony, reflected on her experiences in Baptist ministry, and offered wisdom and encouragement to our students. It was a privilege to hear her story and gain insight into the opportunities and challenges of ministry today.

Our students enjoyed the chance to ask thoughtful questions and engage in open conversation about calling, leadership, and service.

Thank you, Lynn, for spending time with us and investing in the next generation of Baptist leaders. We were inspired, challenged, and encouraged by your visit.

Will you help with research being conducted within the Baptist Union? As Baptists, we’re discipleship people, raising up everyone to participate in God’s kingdom. We’re also membership people, covenanting in local churches to watch over one another and engage in mission together. But how do the two connect?

Revd. Dave Criddle, a Baptist Minister at The Well Sheffield, is conducting research into that question. He aims to discover how membership structures are—or could be—developed and used in ways that grow healthy disciples.

All leaders of Baptist churches are invited to complete a simple online survey (20–30 minutes) to help his research.
