Arise, Sir Kevin!
Congratulations to friend of Mylnhurst Sir Kevin Sinfield who receives a well-deserved knighthood in the King’s birthday honours.
It was our privilege to meet Sir Kevin in December when he brought his 7 in 7: Together ultramarathon challenge to to raise awareness for the MND Association.
He even took the time to pose with our children for a photograph before setting off on the next of his incredible challenge in memory of his beloved teammate Rob Burrow, and to find a cure for devastating motor neurone disease.

Proud news from the athletics track where our not-so ‘old’ girl Bella-Maria has ranked seventh in Great Britain after winning silver - with a personal best time - in the U14 800m at the Yorkshire County Championships.
Bella, aged 13, who completed her Mylnhurst journey in 2024 and is now in Year 8 at , also swims for and won a silver and two bronze medals at the Regional Swimming Championships in Leeds - meaning she qualifies for the National Swimming Championships at Ponds Forge in July!
Mum Alison said: “An interesting fact is it was Mylnhurst’s Head of Girls’ Games Mrs Buchanan who persuaded me to let Bella do the Schools Biathlon when she was at Mylnhurst. I had originally said no as I felt she wasn’t a strong swimmer.
“It was Mrs Swift who then gave Bella some extra lessons at school - and when she qualified for the finals, that’s when she then joined Sheffield City Swimming Club.
“It just shows what impact an encouraging PE teacher and sports department can have on a child.”
Well done, Bella, and good luck in the nationals next month!
