➗✨ KS3 MATHS AT SPARK ACADEMY ✨➗

Take a look at some recent Maths learning from one of our Year 8 students! 📚

During this session, they’ve been developing their understanding of ratio, working through a range of ratio problem-solving questions and applying their knowledge to different mathematical scenarios.

At Spark Academy, our 1:1 tuition is fully personalised to each learner, allowing our qualified teachers to focus on individual next steps, revisit areas that need further practice and build confidence as new skills develop. 💛

Our KS3 tuition can also help learners strengthen the key knowledge and skills they’ll need as they progress towards GCSE study.

👋💛 HELLO OCTOBER — MEET THE FOUNDER!

As we begin a new month, I thought it was the perfect time to reintroduce myself!

I’m Becky Kowalski, Founder and Director of Spark Academy Tutoring. ✨

I founded Spark Academy with a simple belief at its heart: every child and young person deserves access to education that recognises them as an individual.

Today, we’re proud to support many learners through personalised 1:1 tuition, Home Education, EOTAS and Alternative Provision, alongside specialist support including Art Therapy.

One of the things I’m most proud of is the wonderful team of fully qualified teachers we have at Spark Academy. Every day, I get to see the difference that positive relationships, personalised learning and the right support can make — whether that's rebuilding a learner's confidence, helping them re-engage with education or working towards their academic goals. 💛

As Founder, I remain closely involved in all aspects of Spark Academy — from recruitment and safeguarding to developing our vision, growing the company and ensuring we continue to provide high-quality, personalised support for our learners.

Alongside running Spark Academy, I also continue to tutor students myself. Teaching is something I genuinely love, and working directly with learners, building those relationships and seeing their confidence and progress grow remains one of my favourite parts of what I do. 💛

If you're new to our page — welcome to Spark Academy! 👋

Here’s to another exciting month of learning, progress and plenty of reasons to be proud. ✨

Whether it’s been taking those first steps back into learning, building positive relationships with tutors or making fantastic academic progress — every achievement matters.

A huge well done to all our learners, and thank you to our wonderful tutors for making the start of this academic year such a positive one! 💛

Here’s to another brilliant month at Spark Academy Tutoring! ✨

📚 Personalised KS3 tuition at Spark Academy Tutoring

One of the real benefits of 1:1 tuition is being able to tailor learning to exactly what a student needs support with.

🧪 Take a look at some recent KS3 Science work from one of our learners!
After previously working on quadratic equations and reaching the point where he felt confident with them, he asked to focus on Science this week and develop his understanding of calculating moles.

Working together with his tutor, he explored moles and how to balance equations, using:
Moles = Mass ÷ Molecular Formula Mass
The finished work shown here is the result of building that understanding together and then applying it independently. ⭐

At Spark Academy Tutoring, our 1:1 tuition is personalised around each learner — whether they need to revisit something they’re finding difficult, build confidence in a particular topic or move on to their next challenge.

⭐ Fully qualified teachers with QTS
⭐ Enhanced DBS checked tutors
⭐ A carefully handpicked team of experienced teachers
⭐ Personalised 1:1 tuition
⭐ Online and face-to-face options available
⭐ Support across a wide range of KS3 subjects

🎨💛 Art Therapy at Spark Academy Tutoring

Sometimes, children and young people can find it difficult to put their thoughts and feelings into words. Art Therapy provides a safe and supportive space where they can explore and express themselves creatively.

🎨 Emotional expression and communication
💛 Confidence and self-esteem
🌱 Emotional wellbeing
🧠 Understanding and processing feelings
✨ Developing coping strategies
🤝 Building positive relationships and trust

Sessions are 1:1 and tailored to the individual child or young person, providing them with space to express themselves at their own pace.

Art Therapy can form part of a wider package of support alongside our 1:1 tuition, EOTAS and Alternative Provision services or be accessed as an individual service.

🛡️ Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do at Spark Academy Tutoring

As we continue into the new academic year, we wanted to share a reminder of the robust safer recruitment procedures we follow when recruiting tutors to work with our children and young people.

All Spark Academy tutors are fully qualified teachers with QTS and complete our safer recruitment and vetting process before they are able to begin working with learners.

Our checks include:

✅ Enhanced DBS check
✅ DBS Update Service check
✅ Children’s Barred List check
✅ Prohibition from Teaching check
✅ Identity verification
✅ Right to Work checks
✅ Two professional references
✅ Qualification and QTS verification
✅ Safeguarding expectations and company policies shared as part of tutor induction

These checks form an important part of our commitment to providing a safe, professional and high-quality 1:1 tuition service for the children, young people and families we support.

Our safeguarding policies and procedures are reviewed regularly and reflect current statutory guidance, including Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE).

🔬 Take a look at some recent GCSE Science work from our learners!
They’ve been exploring the history of the atom — looking at how our understanding of the atom has developed, how the atom is structured today, and how to use the periodic table to determine the number of protons, neutrons and electrons.

🫀 They’ve also been exploring the circulatory system, including the structure of the heart and how it works within the human body.

At Spark Academy Tutoring, our aim is not simply to work towards exams, but to help students develop a secure understanding of their subjects and feel more confident in their learning.
