The BFI Film Academy is a skills-based course that offers masterclasses in directing, screenwriting, acting, editing and cinematography with industry professionals to give a leg up to those hoping for a career in film. The course runs on Saturdays from 4th November 2021 until 5th February 2022. We are now searching South Yorkshire for 20 talented, enthusiastic and hard-working 16-19 year olds, to take part in this year's BFI Film Academy.
No experience is necessary, just a can-do attitude, a passion for film and a desire to learn.

Amazing South Yorkshire photographer and videographer, Jennifer Booth gave a presentation full of enthusiasm. A true role model and a great way to wind up the week.

SHIFT launch of our Introduction to the Creative Industries course got off to a great start. First week taster photography starting soon. Places still available.

Our courses are currently all remote but that doesnt stop our latest enrolments getting their welcome packs! Just a little something to help them on the road to Media Masters! There is still time to join our classes. 12 weeks to develop an understanding photography and videography, sound editing and animation. New course starting Jan 2021 - now open to applicants aged 16-19 (up to 25 years with an EHCP) - virtual course: ‘Understanding the Creative Industries’.

Get the knowledge, upskill and understand the creative industries. Become confident in presenting yourself in a digitally rich format.

The course delivered virtually on Zoom digital conferencing includes:
- Video and audio production and editing
- Animation and motion capture
- Graphic design
- Photography and image manipulation
- Inspirational virtual workshops with media industry speakers
- As well as improving confidence in online learning and virtual presentation when making application for employment; college and or apprenticeships.
- The course has the opportunity to complete a Bronze Arts Award.

It will run for approximately four months from January 2021. Tuition and support will mostly take place remotely (as Zoom conferences) supported by the ‘Equal’ online learner portal. Students will also have face-to-face inductions and tutorials delivered within current Covid social distancing and safety guidelines.
