Sheffield Street Pastors
This Friday will see the launch of the Sheffield Safe Square - a welcoming welfare spot based in Leopold Square for anyone who’s phone has run out of charge; feels a little bit nervous; or needs to report any harassment on a night out.
It’s industry run and I need to stress that it’s only a pilot scheme for now - but fortunately it’s got the backing of the NHS, South Yorkshire Police, the Home Office, numerous committees and Sheffield City Council.
It’s open every Friday and Saturday during December, in addition to Thursday 7 December and New Years’ Eve from 10pm until 5am.
