Silverdale School

Silverdale School students are celebrating today as they opened their GCSE and Level 2 vocational qualification results, with students achieving an impressive Attainment 8 score of 61.0, the highest since the introduction of the measure.

A total of 182 students sat exams across 27 different subjects, achieving a brilliant:

- 33.3% achieving the highest grades of Grade 7 to 9 in English and Maths
- 75% at Grade 5 or above in English and Maths
- 90% at Grade 4 or above in English and Maths

Across the school’s broad and inclusive curriculum, 46% of all grades awarded were at Grades 7 to 9, with twenty-two students achieving the exceptional outcome of Grade 7 to 9 in all their subjects.

A message from our headteacher, Mr Jim Smith following today's results:

“We are incredibly proud of every one of our students. Their A Level results are the culmination of years of hard work, determination and resilience, and today is a celebration of everything they have achieved. Behind every grade is a story of commitment, perseverance and personal growth.

These results open doors to exciting futures, whether that is university, apprenticeships, employment or other pathways, and we are delighted to see our young people taking their next steps with confidence. I would also like to thank our dedicated staff and the families who have supported our students throughout their journey.

🎉 Today we're celebrating an exceptional set of A level and Level 3 results today with the Class of 2026 achieving a 99.5% pass rate across 29 different courses at Level 3 (99.7% for A levels only) and an incredible 36.5% of all Level 3 grades at A* to A (35.5% for A levels only).

We would like to thank parents and carers for their continued support, encouragement and partnership throughout their children's educational journeys. We would also like to recognise the dedication of our teachers, support staff and wider colleagues, whose expertise, care and commitment have helped students thrive both academically and personally.

The finals of our Year 8 Ready, Steady, Cook! and Year 9 Masterchef challenges have been taking place this week. There was some amazing talent and creativity on display, and some ambitious dishes for the lucky judges to try - no lunch needed that day! All the finalists did themselves proud but the winners were Stevie in Year 8 with a medley of desserts that the judges could not stop eating, and Lily in Year 9 with her beautiful inventive vegan bao buns - almost too pretty to eat but not quite!
