ABOUT ACTION FOR PULMONARY FIBROSIS:
APF is a national UK charity. It brings people together to drive change so more people affected by Pulmonary Fibrosis (or lung scarring) can live well for longer. People living with lung scarring, their loved ones, and the professionals caring for them are at the heart of everything it does.
It provides expert support, information, education, helps a growing network of support groups, and raises awareness around the condition. It collaborates to drive change that improves health and care, and provides vital resources to researchers, bringing hope for new and future treatments for this devastating disease.
It is estimated between 15,000 and 20,000 people a year are diagnosed with lung scarring. Despite Pulmonary Fibrosis being as deadly as some cancers, diagnosis, treatment and support is slow. This shortens and devastates lives, and leaves people feeling alone, confused and frightened.
The ultimate aim is to support sufferers through Pulmonary Fibrosis, and eventually, to prevent lives being lost to it.
