Fáilte to the Irish Dance Society of The University of Sheffield! We offer dance classes on Mondays and Fridays in The Hawley Building.
Monday
Beginners 6-7pm
Intermediate 7-8pm
Advanced 8-9pm
Friday
All abilities 5:30-7
The classes are fun and easygoing, where we'll prepare dance routines for performances and learn new steps. It doesn't matter whether you've danced or not, all you need is some enthusiasm and lots of energy! 🌟 ACTIVITIES AWARDS 🌟
A few weeks ago our President and Vice-President represented us at the annual activities awards. We were delighted to be nominated for small society of the year, but even happier for our vice-president after winning long term contribution to a society. Alana’s been a core part of the society for 6 years and we are so sad to see her go but will be wishing her all the best in her career ♥️

✈️ TOUR 2026 ✈️
We’ve had the best time in Prague last few days! We packed so much in and made the most of our time there.
We explored the beautiful old town, saw the castle & cathedral, ate traditional chimney cakes and of course partied hard 🥂

As AGM season is approaching, we thought it would be a good idea to share what each of our committee roles entails (so you can start writing your applications over the break😉)
The core 4 roles must be filled by UoS students. Also, you can do two roles as long as both of them are not core! For example, Helena and Josie both did dance coordinator this year alongside social media secretary and secretary, respectively! 💖
We are also introducing 2 new roles, merch sec and tech sec if anyone is interested in these 👀
Overall it’s super fun being involved in how the society runs, and it’s a great skill to put on your cv!
