Today is World Teachers Day! An annual day led by UNESCO to celebrate all teachers across the globe. This year’s theme is ‘Standing with teachers: 60 years of protecting the profession, advancing its status and shaping our futures’.

Today we celebrate European Day of Languages. It’s where we are encouraged to discover and learn languages at any age, whether within formal education or alongside it.

On 26 September, we will be celebrating European Day of Languages, an annual event that recognises and promotes the rich diversity of languages spoken across Europe and within our own school community. Throughout the week, students and staff will have the opportunity to take part in a range of exciting activities, including a languages treasure hunt, a languages-themed student and staff Bake Off, and a cake sale.

We are delighted that money raised from the cake sale will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support. We look forward to celebrating the many languages and cultures that make our school such a vibrant and inclusive community.

We're looking forward to welcoming so many families to Westfield School for our Open Evening tomorrow. We are sold out, so if you're no longer able to attend, please let us know by cancelling your tickets so we can offer them to families on our wait list.

If you're coming, please make sure that you arrive at your allotted time to enjoy a presentation from our headteacher. We are expecting the car park to be exceptionally busy. We would appreciate it if you are able to walk, lift share, or use public transport when travelling to us.
