A very special opportunity for our young Sheffield Wednesday supporters!

We are delighted to have been given four Sheffield Wednesday season tickets for the 2026/27 season by the SWFC Supporters’ Trust.

The aim is to give as many children from our school as possible the opportunity to experience a live Sheffield Wednesday match — particularly those who may not normally have the chance to attend.

For this Thursday’s first home league game, we have two pairs of tickets available — meaning two children and two accompanying adults can attend, giving two families the chance to enjoy the match.

The tickets will then be returned to school so that we can allocate them to different children and families for future home games throughout the season.

As we don’t want anyone to miss out on Thursday’s game, we are opening this opportunity now, ahead of the full information letter being sent out.

The first two people to comment below will be offered the tickets for Thursday’s match.

We hope this will be the start of a fantastic opportunity for lots of our children to enjoy watching the Owls at Hillsborough this season.

A huge thank you to the SWFC Supporters’ Trust for making this possible.

Come on you Owls!

Friendship Bowling Club

The Friendship Bowling Club, who ran a fantastic after-school club at Deepcar St John’s, are now offering free bowling for school children every Tuesday at 10am during the school holidays.

It’s a lovely opportunity for local children to get involved, meet others and have some fun — completely free of charge

Why not bring them along next Tuesday and give it a try?

As another fantastic school year comes to an end, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all our parents and carers for your help and support.

We wish all of our children, parents, carers, and the wider school community a safe, restful, and happy summer break.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back in September.

A huge thank you to a generous parent, who has very kindly donated a complete set of home and away football kits for our school team.

Gestures like this make a real difference and show what a wonderful, supportive school community we have.

Although he wishes to remain anonymous, we hope he knows just how grateful we all are for his generosity.

Thank you for your amazing support!

Today, we say goodbye to an incredible group of young people. It has been a privilege to watch them grow from children into kind, confident and resilient young people, ready for the next exciting chapter of their lives.

We are proud of everything that they have achieved and of the people they have become.

As you leave Deepcar St. John's, remember the words from Proverbs 22:6:

"Teach a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it."

We hope the values you have learned here—working hard, being kind and shining bright—will guide you wherever life takes you.

Believe in yourselves, be brave enough to chase your dreams, and never forget that you will always be a part of the Deepcar St. John's family.

Good luck, Year 6. Your next adventure begins now.

Celebrating Our Amazing Year 6 Leavers

Today, we came together for our Year 6 Leavers' Service – a special time to reflect, celebrate and look ahead.

As we shared memories, songs and kind words, we celebrated everything our children have achieved during their time at Deepcar St. John's. We reflected on the friendships they've made, the challenges they've overcome and the incredible journey that has shaped them into the confident, caring young people they are today.

While it's always sad to say goodbye, we're so proud of each and every one of them and excited to see where their next adventure takes them. We hope they leave us with wonderful memories, confidence in themselves and the courage to embrace every opportunity that lies ahead.

Good luck, Year 6. Keep believing in yourselves, be kind, work hard and shine bright!

Reminder for Year 6 Parents

Just a quick reminder about shirt signing on the last day of term.

Please send your child in with a separate spare T-shirt for their friends to sign. This should not be the school T-shirt they are wearing that day.

Thank you – we're looking forward to making it a special day for our Year 6 pupils! 💙
