Dear Parents and Carers,

With the recent forecast predicting a period of hot weather, we would like to ask for your support in helping us keep all children safe, comfortable and well during their time at nursery.

Young children are particularly vulnerable in high temperatures, with increased risks of dehydration, sunburn and heat-related illness. To help us manage this safely, we kindly request that you:

Dress your child in suitable clothing – lightweight, loose-fitting clothing that covers the shoulders is ideal
Provide a sun hat (clearly named) for outdoor play
Apply sun cream before arriving at nursery, and ensure your child has appropriate sun protection for the day
Bring a labelled bottle of sun cream if your child may require reapplication during the day
Ensure your child brings a named water bottle so we can encourage regular hydration
At nursery, we will continue to take appropriate steps to support children during hot weather, including encouraging plenty of drinks, making use of shaded areas, and adapting activities where needed.

We also recognise that particularly high temperatures can be challenging. If families feel they would prefer to keep their child at home on the hottest days, this will be fully supported.

Your support and understanding are greatly appreciated in helping us maintain a safe and comfortable environment for all children during this warm period.

Also, there will be no hot lunches available from Monday 22nd June until Monday 6th July.

As part of Healthy Eating Week some of the children in Blossoms took part in making fruit salad activity. They shared the fruit salad with their peers which was enjoyed at snack time. The children displayed great cutting skills, well done. 🍇🍉🍊🍓🍎🍍🍌

Tiddlywinks Centre is turning 21 this year and to celebrate we will be holding a party at the centre on Friday 4th September.
We are in the early stages of planning this event and would like to gauge peoples interest in attending.

This week in nursery we are celebrating Sir David Attenborough's 100th birthday by having lots of animal themed activities. The children in Stars made a birthday card for him last week and sent it in the post.
