Some of the babies from Little Buds went out for a walk to the local pond & park before it got too warm. Disappointing there were no ducks to be seen at the pond 🦆 😎

Last week the children in foundation enjoyed making some gingerbread men. Whilst looking at the ingredients an egg broke on the table. We spoke about what we could make with broken eggs and we discussed making an omelette. 🥚🍳

Today we made those omelettes! We made chefs hats and decided what ingredients we wanted in our omelette by ticking them on our order form. We enjoyed cutting up the different ingredients and whisking our eggs up. We went to the kitchen and watched the omelette being made. We then enjoyed them at snack time 😋.

Does anyone recognise anybody in this photo which was taken before Tiddlywinks opened in the new building 21 years ago?
We're celebrating our 21st Anniversary on Friday 4th September and it would be great if we could get in contact with some of the children that are in the photograph 😊

Good afternoon,

As your child is getting ready to start school it is time to say goodbye. Unfortunately this means closing down their tapestry journals. However!!!,
All of your child’s observations, photo’s and reports will be turned into a pdf journal for you to download and keep or there is even an option to have it turned into a printed book.

The link will be available on both the web version and the app and the link is live for 90 days to allow you time to download them.

Please contact me if you need any help and I will see what I can do. My email address is [email protected] or you can contact me at the centre on 0114 2531377.

As a staff team it has been amazing getting to know your child and watching them grow and develop.

We wish them the best time at their new school.

Thanks

Temperatures are set to rise again this week. Because of the potential high temperature the nursery may be required to close at 5pm to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children and staff for the rest of the week.

These decisions will be made on a daily basis.

Why This Decision May Be Made

Safe Indoor Temperatures: Internal room temperatures must remain at a level that is safe for infants and young children.

Child Well-Being: Young children are highly vulnerable to heat exhaustion, dehydration, and heatstroke.

We recognise that high temperatures can be challenging for families with young children and fully support families that would prefer to keep them at home.

At nursery, we will continue to take appropriate steps to support children during hot weather, including encouraging plenty of drinks, making use of shaded areas and adapting activities where needed,

Families can also help us manage this weather safely by:
- Dressing your child in loose-fitting clothing that covers the shoulders
- Providing a sun hat (Clearly labelled)
- Apply suncream before arriving at nursery and ensure your child has appropriate sun protection for the day
- Bring a labelled bottle of suncream so we can re-apply suncream where needed

Your support and understanding are greatly appreciated in helping us maintain a safe and comfortable environment for all the children during this warm period.

If you have any questions or if your child has specific needs relating to sun care, please speak to a member of the team.

Thankyou for your cooperation
