About Elmore Kindergarten

Elmore Kindergarten was established in Sheffield in 1991 to provide full day and sessional care for children aged 3months to 5 years of age. We aim to be as flexible as reasonably possible in order to cater for the needs of busy and working parents. The nursery operates from 7.30am to 6pm, 51 weeks per year. Closures are one week at Christmas and bank holidays. At each of our nurseries, you will find a warm, welcoming and stimulating environment where children feel at home and are able to play, explore, discover and learn. There is a balance of highly qualified, trained and experienced practitioners who are continually trained to update and refresh their knowledge in childcare and safety . We value our staff and consider them to be the success of the nursery. We actively encourage them to develop their ideas and commitment to childcare. Together with our staff we aim to constantly improve standards for the best interests of the children and their families. Each child has a designated key worker who shall be the communication point for the parent to discuss the child’s day at the nursery and ongoing development. Additionally there are on going development records for all children, that are available for parents to read and discuss with their child's key worker. Our directors and senior management team have many years experience in childcare and have active roles in the day to day operations of each site.

Try It Together Thursday! - Nature Detectives

A simple activity that can be adapted from babies right through to preschool.

👶 Babies (6 months–2 years)
Go outside together and explore natural objects such as leaves, sticks, grass and stones.
• Let your child touch and explore safely.
• Talk about how things feel: soft, rough, smooth, bumpy.
• Name what you can see.
• Sing a simple song while exploring.

🚶 Toddlers (2–3 years)
Go on a mini nature hunt! Can you find:
• 🍃 A big leaf
• 🌿 Something green
• 🪵 A stick
• 🪨 Something smooth
• 🌼 A flower

🧒 Preschool (3–5 years)
Become Nature Detectives! 🔎
Can you find:
• Something bigger than your hand

🐾🐶 Meet Derek!🐶 🐾

What an exciting day we’ve had at nursery meeting the wonderful Derek from Support Dogs 🥰

The children were so excited to meet Derek, learn all about what he does and spend some special time with him. It was lovely to see their faces light up as they met their new furry friend! 🐕❤️

A huge thank you to Derek and Gill for coming to visit us and helping the children learn more about support dogs and the amazing ways they can help people. 🌟

We’ve definitely fallen a little bit in love with Derek… and we’re already hoping he’ll come back and see us again soon! 🐾💕

This month's Nurtured @ Middlewood's Employee of the Month, as voted for by our wonderful parents, is... Blake! 🎉

Blake received some truly heartwarming nominations from our families. They spoke of his kindness, enthusiasm, and genuine care for every child. Parents shared how much their children look forward to seeing Blake at nursery and how much they appreciate the detailed updates he provides at the end of each day, giving them reassurance and peace of mind.

There are moments when you look at your whole team and simply feel incredibly proud... and this is definitely one of them! 💙

At our first ever Nurtured@Middlewood awards, our amazing team received some incredible recognition all voted for by colleagues parents and children! but one thing that really stood out was the success of two fantastic members of our nursery family – Blake and Lukasz, who together took home an incredible 7 awards! 🏆👏

Their achievements are a wonderful reminder of something we feel passionate about every day – the importance of men in Early Years education.

Children benefit enormously from seeing positive male role models who nurture, inspire, play, teach and care. Blake and Lukasz bring energy, creativity, kindness and dedication to our nursery every single day, showing that Early Years is a career where everyone can make an incredible difference, regardless of gender.

Congratulations Blake and Lukasz – you've made us all incredibly proud and thank you for helping to champion the vital role that men play in shaping the next generation. 🌟

Today we said a very special "see you soon" to our wonderful Deputy Manager Angel, as she begins her maternity leave before welcoming her beautiful baby boy. 💙👶

This afternoon, the staff and children had the loveliest time celebrating with a special baby shower filled with smiles, laughter and lots of excitement. It was such a lovely way for everyone to wish her well before she starts her next big adventure. 🧸💐

From all of the children, families and staff, we wish you a relaxing maternity leave, a safe arrival for your little boy, and lots of precious cuddles and memories. We can't wait to meet him when you're ready to visit! 💙

What a fantastic morning we had at Weston Park Museum! 🤩🏛️

The excitement started before we even arrived — the children absolutely loved the tram journey, which was a big highlight (and for some, a brand new experience!). 🚋✨

At the museum, we had such a wonderful time exploring, discovering and getting hands-on with all the exciting exhibits. From spotting interesting objects to engaging with interactive displays, there were so many opportunities to spark our curiosity and imagination.

We also enjoyed a lovely picnic snack together, giving everyone a chance to relax, chat and refuel before more exploring. 🧺💛

We are so incredibly proud of how beautifully behaved the children were throughout the trip — especially as this was something different and, for some, one of their very first outings like this. They showed such enthusiasm, curiosity and great listening skills all day!

A truly special experience for everyone — and one we’ll remember for a long time! 🌟
