Something different last week at Forgers 🏉
On Saturday, we welcomed E-ACT Pathways Academy for a combined Tag & Contact Rugby League session — and what a day it was!
50 plus happy, excited kids ✅
Some excellent, competitive RL ✅
Finished off with Chip Butties ✅
A huge thank you to all the parents, coaches and volunteers who help make these events happen 👏
Some words about the day from coach Nick:
Forgers faced up to Pathway Panthers in the Mosborough sunshine on Saturday morning. Playing 4 matches against some very athletic and skillfull Panthers teams who tested all aspects of Forgers defence out.
The Forgers grew into the games as the morning progressed, focusing on getting numbers into tackles, controlling the ruck. Whilst in attack the emphasis was on moving the ball around using a first reciever.
Compared to where the Forgers started the season this was night and day, with every single player representing the badge with pride, showing a real progression in terms on skillset and attitude.
Coaches players of the day were Dylan for some characteristic try saving tackles and great communication in defence, and Theo who played his first ever game of Rugby League and did not take a backwards step.
Opposition coaches players of the day were Jude who caused the Panthers no end of problems with his strong running, and Noah who led the defensive line strongly, placing some big hits on the opposition.
