We would like to say a huge congratulations to Ms Lindley for being recognised in The Pearson National Teaching Awards. She received a Highly Commended certificate for being nominated in the Unsung Hero category!

This well-deserved recognition reflects her dedication, passion and commitment to making a difference every day. We are incredibly proud of her achievement and grateful for the positive impact she has on our school community.

Well done and thank you for your hard work! πŸ‘

Leanna was overwhelmed when receiving her certificate and shared that, as long as all the children leave the Cove with a smile, she’s happy. A lovely reflection of the care she brings to her role every day.

🎨 Year 1 have thoroughly enjoyed their Pop Art topic, inspired by the work of Keith Haring. The children explored Haring’s distinctive style and created some fantastic pieces of artwork based on his work. They used bold, bright colours, thick black outlines, and his famous movement lines to bring their creations to life.

We are incredibly proud of their creativity and the beautiful artwork they have produced. Well done, Year 1!

Introducing the WPT Prom Bank for Year 6 and Year 11! πŸ‘—πŸ‘ž

Prom is a special milestone for our students, but the cost of prom wear and accessories can be a challenge for some families.

That’s why Wickersley Partnership Trust is proud to launch the WPT Prom Bank - a new initiative designed to help future Year 6 and 11 students access and borrow prom attire, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to celebrate their big night with confidence.

As this year’s prom season is underway, students and families are invited to consider donating:

All sizes of adult formalwear and children's formalwear from 9 - 12 years are welcomed.

These donations will help build a sustainable collection that can support students for years to come.

Mrs Bartholomew Recommends πŸ“–πŸ¦–

'The Dinosaur that Pooped the Bed' by Tom Fletcher & Dougie Poynter.

I liked the book The Dinosaur Who Pooped the Bed because it is very funny. I used to read it to my son every bedtime, and he would belly laugh so hard at the silly dinosaur. My favourite part was when the dinosaur made a big mess.

The pictures were colourful and helped tell the story. I enjoyed reading this book because it made us laugh together. I would recommend it to other families because it is fun and entertaining.

🚴 Year 5 have thoroughly enjoyed taking part in Bikeability training. Throughout the programme, the children learned important cycling skills and gained a better understanding of how to keep themselves and others safe when riding both around the school grounds and in the local community. They showed great determination as they developed their confidence and road awareness.

We are incredibly proud of all the pupils for completing the training. The instructors were particularly impressed by their resilience, enthusiasm, and positive attitude throughout the sessions. Well done, Y5!

πŸƒ On Friday 15th May, Y6 took part in the annual Rotherham School Games Colour Run at Rawmarsh Community School, raising money for Rotherham Hospice. After a busy week of SATs, the event was a fantastic opportunity for the children to celebrate, have fun, and enjoy time together. Everyone had an amazing time, and by the end of the run, there were plenty of colourful faces and big smiles!

A huge well done to all the pupils who took part and represented the school so brilliantly. We would also like to thank Rotherham School Games, Rotherham Hospice, and everyone involved in organising such a fantastic event. Well done, Year 6!

πŸ–οΈ Recently, Y6 enjoyed a well-deserved trip to Filey to celebrate the end of SATs week. During the visit, the children spent the day exploring the coastline, searching for creatures in the rock pools, and enjoying time together on the beach. They also had the opportunity to visit the amusements, buy souvenirs, and treat themselves to an ice cream.

Everyone had a fantastic day, and we were incredibly proud of the way they represented the school throughout the trip. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate all of their hard work and achievements during SATs. Well done, Year 6 – we hope you made lots of special memories!
