As the school year comes to an end, we would like to wish all of our pupils, families and staff a wonderful summer break.

Thank you for being part of another fantastic year. Together, we have celebrated achievements in classrooms, on sports fields, on stages, in competitions, on trips and in our local communities. Most importantly, we have seen our pupils grow in confidence, character and ambition.

We hope everyone enjoys a well-earned rest and has the opportunity to make special memories over the summer.

We are already looking forward to welcoming everyone back in September and to another year filled with learning, opportunity and success.

We are pleased to confirm the date of our open evening for families considering secondary schools for 2027 and 2028 entry.

The event will be held in school on Thursday 1 October from 5-7pm.

All welcome to come along - there is no need to register.

Newfield's Big Challenge team 'Scents and Smells' were treated to a tour of Henry Boot's offices recently.

This was part of their Big Challenge prize for sustainability. The Year 9 team are pictured here with Jack Kidder from Henry Boot's social value team.

As we approach the summer holidays, we wanted to make families aware of the government's Summer Savings scheme, which brings together information on discounts and offers available across the UK during the summer break.

The website includes family attractions, cultural activities, meal offers and information about free bus travel for children aged 15 and under during August.

We hope this is a useful resource for our families as they plan for the summer holidays.

Last weekend, our Year 9 pupils successfully completed their final Bronze Duke of Edinburgh's Award Expedition.

Over two days, students demonstrated resilience, teamwork and determination as they navigated routes through the beautiful Win Hill and Ladybower Reservoir area, with an overnight campsite stay.

This expedition marked the culmination of months of preparation and was a fantastic achievement for everyone involved.

Congratulations to all of our pupils for their commitment, positive attitude and perseverance throughout the weekend.

Celebrating Success

Well done to Seth, whose football team Chesterfield CFC have been crowned Junior Premier League Yorkshire region champions.

Seth collected his winner's medal yesterday following an excellent season for the team.

This is a fantastic achievement and a wonderful reward for all the hard work, commitment and teamwork shown throughout the campaign.

Celebrating Success

A huge well done to Connie, Theia, Denny, Eli, Flo, Harper, Isabelle, Iris and Leo, who spent their inset day volunteering at the Carfield Music Festival. From helping to set up the event and serving refreshments, to supporting younger musicians and painting faces, they played an important role in making the day a success.

Their efforts were greatly appreciated by Carfield Friends and helped contribute to a fantastic event that raised money for Carfield Primary School. What a wonderful example of community spirit, generosity and teamwork.

A huge congratulations to Jake Wright, Head of Year 8, on representing England at the Seniors World Cup in Thailand.

Jake joined our trust earlier this year, bringing with him a distinguished professional football career that included captaining Oxford United and helping Sheffield United secure promotion as League One champions.

This term, he returned to the international stage as part of the England Veterans team, competing alongside former professional and international players from around the world. England went on to lift the trophy with a convincing 4–0 victory in the final.

What makes this achievement even more special is the impact the team made away from the pitch. During their time in Thailand, they visited a local orphanage, donated football shirts and invited children to attend matches. Jake tells us it was this experience that made the trip so special.

Jake has also been interviewed by BBC Radio Sheffield about his experience, highlighting both the tournament and the community work that took place alongside it.

From captaining teams and winning promotions to supporting pupils every day at Newfield School, Jake continues to be an inspiring role model. We are incredibly proud to have him as part of our school community.
