World Space Week is an international celebration of science and technology held every year from 4 October to 10 October.

This year we celebrate the ‘Rocket Revolution’, the rapid transformation of space launch, changing the landscape of who can reach space and what it’s used for.
This week is an opportunity to explore the innovations we’re seeing in space and to encourage our students to reach for the stars.

October is Black History Month! This year’s theme is ‘Honouring Our Communities’, reflecting the fact that Black history is not only made through landmark events or by famous names. It is also created through everyday acts of leadership, care, service, creativity, courage, commitment and integrity.

Throughout this month we’re going to celebrate some of the local heroes in our communities.

Today is World Teachers Day! An annual day led by UNESCO to celebrate all teachers across the globe. This year’s theme is ‘Standing with teachers: 60 years of protecting the profession, advancing its status and shaping our futures’.

Without our teachers, we couldn’t do what we do. Their integrity and ambition for our students helps to create learning environments where everyone belongs and gets us closer to our mission of ensuring everyone can thrive and succeed.

Today is National Poetry Day, the biggest mass celebration of poetry in the UK!

This year’s theme is Wonder!

Poetry is a way of expressing feelings and creativity, using language to give life to emotions and ideas in so many different ways. Why not use today to write your own poem or inspire your young person to write one today about the wonderful world of wonder!

Last week we had some wonderful outside play happening across Chorus!

Hady Primary School had a brilliant OPAL Play and Stay session with parents and children getting a chance to experience the exciting play opportunities we have available on the field and at Bradwell Junior School our pupils took part in a sponsored mini-circuit to raise money for FOBs who support the village schools to provide extra equipment and trips!

At Chorus, we believe in the ambitious power of play and love seeing our community getting to experience the joys that come with it.

Today we celebrate European Day of Languages. It’s where we are encouraged to discover and learn languages at any age, whether within formal education or alongside it.

Did you know that there are more than 300 sign languages worldwide? Or that there’s a book called the Voynich Manuscript from the 15th century which is written in a language no one can identify or read? Or that babies can differentiate between sounds from their native language and a foreign language despite only being a few hours old?
