Thereâs no one way to be gay. Pride Month usually sees a lot of glitter and rainbows and drag queens; but itâs ok if thatâs not the way you want to express your identity. Pride is loud and proud to fight for your right to be who you are and to love who you love, whatever form that may take.
Whether youâre still trying to understand your sexuality or identity, whether youâre out and proud or quietly q***r, whether youâre a theatre geek or a lover of sports; it doesnât matter, you can be proud of the amazing you you are.

Today is International Day of Play! This yearâs theme is âProtect play, protect childhoodâ, a reminder to all of us that happy and healthy childhoods are built on play.
Play builds creativity, resilience, and social skills â the groundwork for lifelong learning and wellbeing. We make sure our pupils get the chance to play at school, so why not take today as a chance to play with your children at home too?

Eckington School and Sixth Form is celebrating a landmark achievement after Ofsted recognised the significant improvements made across the school in its latest inspection.
Ofstedâs latest inspection in March 2026 under the new framework validates the progress the school has made, meeting safeguarding standards and reaching the expected standard in five out of seven inspection areas.
Chief Executive Officer of Chorus Education Trust, Chris James, said:
âThe transformation at Eckington School is the most significant I have seen in my 35 years in education.â
âI congratulate Richard, his leadership team, staff, students, governors, and parents on this remarkable progress. I am confident Eckington School will continue to improve and ensure every young person achieves their full potential.â

Did you know? The original pride flag was designed in 1978 by American artist Gilbert Baker with eight stripes, though as demand for the flags increased, it settled on the six-striped version we know today.
Over the years the flag has received various redesigns to provide greater representation of marginalised communities. The result is Daniel Quasarâs Pride Progress flag with representations of people of colour in the LGBTQ+ community, the trans community, those living with HIV/AIDS, and the intersex community.
