📼🎮 OPERATION 80s/90s CHILDHOOD IS HERE! 🎶📺
Over the last two years, around 100 young people have taken part in our 3-week brick-phone challenge.
And they told us something powerful:
💬 “I felt better.”
😴 “I slept better.”
🎨 “I did more.”
❤️ “My relationships with my family improved.”
But there was one problem… when the smartphone came back, it was hard.
So now we’re going bigger.
🚀 Operation 80s/90s Childhood is a four-year project to rebuild the offline world — bringing back the music, hobbies, creativity, community and simple fun that so many of us remember from growing up.
this week, our students are taking the project into the community, delivering leaflets to neighbours and asking for donations of old technology, music and gadgets.
We want this to become a community movement. Something Sheffield can be proud of. ❤️
So, if you've got an old:
📻 radio
🎮 games console
📼 cassette player
💿 CD player
🎧 music player
📀 vinyl, CDs or cassettes
📱 old phone or retro gadget
…please consider donating it to school.
Let's give young people a reason to look up, switch off and discover the world around them.
