👋 I’m Kara, a qualified and experienced Primary School teacher who is passionate about making learning accessible, interactive and fun.

📚 Confidence plays a vital role in children’s learning. Whilst teaching, I’ve often heard children say that they are “no good at that” or they “just can’t do it”. So, if you are looking to boost your child’s confidence (and progress) in Reading, Phonics, Spelling, Writing or Maths, I can help by providing additional support to your child.

✍️ I offer individualised, practical, creative and engaging tuition to children from all Primary year groups – not only boosting their confidence but embedding skills and knowledge in the areas they need.

📕Today's Year 6 reading group is all about workouts, mini reading-workouts!

📚We will read and discuss several short texts together and then answer 4 questions on each piece. The questions cover all of the different question types that children find on SATs papers.

👍 May, and the 2025 Year 6 SAT are approaching at some speed!
Now is THE PERFECT time to fit in an extra BOOST for Maths and Reading.

💻 My groups are an inclusive online space where children come together to work on their Reading and Maths skills, reasoning and problem solving.

📖 ➕️ We tackle different areas of the curriculum and practice SATS style questions during each session - making them the normal, and not a scary or new thing to be feared! 😱

✅️ There are still a couple of spaces available to begin after half-term.

My Year 6, online groups start up again next week and the good news is there are still a couple of spaces available in each.

📖 Each Monday at 4pm during term-time, I run a 40 minute online reading group for Year 6 children who need a bit of a boost with their reading comprehension skills and/or confidence.

➗️ Whilst every Thursday at 4.30pm, also during term-time only, I run a 40 minute online Maths group for Year 6 children who need a bit of a boost with their Maths skills and/or confidence.

Whether you choose Maths, Reading or both, each session is 40 minutes long and cost £12.50 each.

A couple of weeks ago, one of the Year 5 children I work 1:1 with mentioned to me that they'd been working on factors in class and really didn't understand it. We spent the next session working through it at their speed, with lots of practice and games.
Tonight as a warm-up, I gave her this question... super proud of this one 😃 🥰
