🍂 Celebrating the Autumn Equinox at Nursery 🍂

Today our babies celebrated the arrival of autumn through a wonderful sensory experience with cinnamon play dough. 🤎

The children explored their senses as they touched, squeezed and manipulated the play dough, developing their fine motor and hand-strengthening skills. They enjoyed discovering the warm, spicy scent of cinnamon while exploring a beautiful range of autumn colours.

It was a lovely opportunity for our little ones to explore, investigate and learn through their senses while celebrating the changing season. 🍁✨

We are incredibly proud of our Pre-School Room Leader, Hannah, for achieving her Level 3 qualification in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)! 🎓💜
Hannah has shown such dedication, commitment and passion throughout her studies, balancing her qualification alongside her role in the nursery. 👏📚
Her growing knowledge and expertise in SEND will be invaluable in supporting our children, helping us to provide the best possible care and learning experiences, while continuing to develop our understanding and practice as a setting. 🌈🧩❤️

🍂 What a lovely first week of our autumn term! 🍂

We have loved getting busy, exploring and learning alongside our friends, both new and old! 🥰 It has been so lovely seeing everyone settle back into nursery life and enjoy lots of fun, laughter and new experiences together.

A big welcome to all of our new starters — we hope you are beginning to feel right at home with us! ❤️

We’d also like to wish our wonderful preschoolers the best of luck as they start their school journey! 🎒✨ We hope they have settled in beautifully and are enjoying their exciting new adventure.

🍌🧁 From an Idea… to Banana Cupcakes! 🧁🍌
Today our preschoolers continued their learning from yesterday, building on their conversations about swapping unhealthy ingredients for healthier choices through their sand play. 🌱
The children chose a recipe, made a shopping list and headed to the shop to find their ingredients! 📝🛒 Along the way they explored numbers, quantities, safety and letters in the environment. 🔢🔤🚦

Back at nursery, it was time to bake! 👩‍🍳🍌

⚖️ Weighed and measured
💪 Whisked, mashed and poured
🔬 Explored the science of baking
😋 And finally… tasted their delicious banana cupcakes!

A fantastic day of learning, following a process from an idea to a finished product. 💭➡️🧁

Today, our Under the Sea classroom enjoyed a creative activity using food colouring and bread! We listened carefully as the grown-ups demonstrated the activity and then got busy exploring for ourselves.

We used lots of fine manipulative skills as we carefully handled the bread and food colouring. We talked about the different colours and shapes we could see, took turns, worked together and shared our ideas with one another. We even had a cheeky little taste of the bread! It was a fun, hands-on activity filled with creativity, exploration and lots of learning. 🌊🐠🎨
