This week in pre school🌷

The children have enjoyed lots of potion making this week using a variety of different ingredients, such as flowers, lemons, limes and oranges! Some of the children had said they were making "smoothies" for their peers using the fruit 🍋

The children have enjoyed doing some junk modelling this week using a variety of recycled materials, such as tissue boxes, egg cartons and tooth paste boxes. Some of the children decorated their models with a range of crafts. Some used theirs for role play! For instance using a large cardboard box one of the pre-schoolers chose to paint it and pretended it was a car 🎨

We've also had some doctors in preschool this week! The children have enjoyed exploring different professions🧑‍⚕️. During role play the children have enjoyed dressing up as doctors and caring for their patients.

Today the preschoolers have enjoyed a trip to the local park! On our way there we spoke about road safety. The children engaged in conversations about how to safely cross the road and what to look out for, saying "wait for the green man" when we reached the pedestrian crossing, and "look both ways before you walk".
Once we arrived at the park, we discussed how to keep ourselves safe whilst playing there. The children helped the staff look around for any potential hazards. Some children said "we have to keep the gates closed!", "don't run away!" And "stay close to the teachers".

We then enjoyed playing on the equipment and having a fun time in the sun with our friends!

Yesterday in preschool the children engaged in a junk modelling activity, where we used recycled materials, such as egg cartons, bottle caps, toilet roll tubes, and tissue boxes to create beautiful artwork!
This linked nicely into the theme of our nursery council, which was eco-friendly.
All of the children got stuck in and started discussing what they were going to make and how they planned to bring their ideas to life. Some of the children said that they were making "monsters" and "spiders", whilst others wanted to make "flowers" and "ice creams". Everyone was very proud of their upcycled creations!

This week in pre school the children have enjoyed making their own band! 🎶. Throughout the week the children have enjoyed exploring different sounds around the garden. Some of the children used some of the different utensils in the mud kitchen to bang on the pots and pans! We even had our very own guitarist🎸.

Using various different materials such as plastic guttering the children enjoyed working together, and sharing their ideas to make their very own water tuff tray. For example the children chose to place the guttering at different heights and enjoyed pouring water down to make a waterfall.

During indoor play the children have been getting creative with some arts and crafts! The children were really proud of their art work!🎨.

Preschools weekly look back🌞

This week the children enjoyed cyro sports where they were encouraged to join in with colour sorting games, and listening and attention games. The children did really well with working in teams, following instructions and being able to demonstrate their physical skills.

To keep the children cool we have had lots of water play out! The children have enjoyed making ice cream sundaes🍧. We even has some lemonade stands where the children enjoyed some role play; pretending to make lemonade for their friends and their teachers!

Leading on from role play some of the children have enjoyed playing with the pretend babies. One of the Pre schoolers pretended to be a doctor caring for the babies, and enjoyed doing a check up with the stethoscope! 🏥

We have also enjoyed lots of painting both indoors and outdoors using various different materials, such as cardboard. Encouraging the children to re use and recycle items such as cereal boxes, egg boxes and toilet roll tubes🔃

This week we have been busy in pre school! 🌼

Out in the garden using chalk the children have enjoyed creating their very own race track! They enjoyed picking their choice of transport and racing around with their friends! Rather than racing some of the children decided to relax around the track and cheer their peers on! Aside racing we also spoke about road safety and why it's important to look both ways when crossing, and to wait for the green man to GO!

Some of the children have enjoyed playing in our mud kitchen! Creating their very own recipes and collecting ingredients from around the garden! 🍵 .

Indoors the children have enjoyed a variety of activities. From large scale painting to potion making the children have enjoyed using their imagination and getting creative!

Great staff training sessions at Riverview Day Nursery & Peaks Edge Day Nursery this week. Hosting sessions 1 & 2 of this term proved sweaty but successful!
This term's sessions have an overarching Company theme, focussing on policy updates, specifically around Safeguarding & everyday practice.
Huge thanks to our Area & HR Managers, Lisa & Jenni 👏
