Today we're celebrating the achievements of our GCSE students!

✅ Above the 2025 national average at Grade 4+ in both English and Maths
✅ 86% achieved Grade 4+ in Physics
✅ 85% achieved Grade 4+ in Chemistry
✅ 82% achieved Grade 4+ in Biology
✅ 85% achieved a Level 2 Pass+ in Health & Social Care, with 67.9% achieving Level 2 Merit+

Tomorrow (Thursday 20th August) is GCSE Results Day!

GCSE results can be collected from UTC from 9:00am.

We would like to wish all of our students the very best of luck as they receive their results.

For students who are enrolling with us for Year 12:
• Internal students can enrol upon collecting their results from 9am to 3pm
• External students can attend to enrol between 10am and 3pm, please bring your results with you

Today has been all about celebrating the hard work, resilience and achievements of our Year 13 students. It has been wonderful to see so many smiling faces as students collected their results and shared this important milestone with friends, families and staff.

Year 13 students celebrate success!

Today, our Year 13 students are celebrating an excellent set of academic and technical results, opening doors to a wide range of exciting next steps.

Students have achieved outstanding outcomes, reflecting their hard work, resilience and ambition throughout their time with us.

Among this year's highlights:
⭐ 100% pass rate in Digital Design and Development T Level, with 100% achieving a Merit or above
⭐ 100% of Health and Social Care Extended Diploma students achieved MMM or above
⭐ 90% of Sport Extended Diploma students achieved MMM or above
⭐ An A Level pass rate of 88.9%

Students will now progress to universities across the UK, apprenticeships and employment, pursuing futures in healthcare, computing, cyber security, teaching, education and sport.

A Level results day is tomorrow (Thursday 13th August)!

Level 3 Technical and A Level results will be available to collect between 9:00am and 3:00pm.

We'd like to wish all of our students the very best of luck and congratulate you on all your hard work.

Staff will be available throughout the morning to offer support, advice and guidance as you consider your next steps.

What a brilliant final week of term!

We kicked things off on Monday with our fantastic Careers Day, where students took part in a wide range of practical workshops led by employers from across different industries, giving them valuable insight into future career opportunities.

We've also enjoyed a hugely successful Duke of Edinburgh Bronze expedition in the Peak District – complete with a few very overgrown public footpaths.
Our reward activities have been a real highlight, with trips to Alton Towers, bowling, and a relaxing pizza and movie afternoon.

Today we rounded everything off with our amazing Enrichment Day, where students got stuck into everything from Mario Kart tournaments and stop-motion animation to crafts and American tag football. It was wonderful to see so much enthusiasm, creativity and teamwork.

A huge thank you to our incredible staff, whose hard work, dedication and enthusiasm make opportunities like these possible for our students.

Finally, we would like to wish all of our students a happy and well-deserved summer break. We look forward to seeing you all again in the new academic year!

Year 9 Health students have completed their NHS Cadets Programme!

After a foundation year of study, our Year 9 Health students have successfully completed the NHS Cadets Programme.

Throughout the programme, students have explored topics including first aid, leadership and communication, developing valuable skills and knowledge along the way.

They have also had opportunities to apply their learning in real-life situations, including designing games for care home residents, delivering group presentations, and teaching each other about the body's systems.

The programme has helped students build confidence, teamwork and leadership skills while gaining a greater understanding of healthcare and the important role it plays within our communities.

Congratulations to our Curriculum Director for Computing Mr Ahmed!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Mr Ahmed who won the Secondary Teacher Award at the Unique Educator Awards.

This fantastic achievement recognises his exceptional dedication to education, innovation in Computing, and his unwavering commitment to inspiring and supporting young people.

Strengthening partnerships at The Stadium Social!

Mr Ahmed was delighted to attend The Stadium Social, a positive and productive event bringing together the UTC with organisations based across the Olympic Legacy Park.

The event provided an excellent opportunity to explore new ways of working together, with a shared commitment to supporting young people and creating meaningful opportunities for students. Discussions highlighted a range of potential partnerships that could offer valuable employer engagement, industry insight, and real-world experiences.

Duke of Edinburgh practice walk success!

Last weekend, our students successfully completed their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award practice walk.

Despite the hot weather, they showed fantastic determination, resilience, and teamwork throughout the challenge. It was great to see them supporting each other and rising to the occasion every step of the way.

We would also like to say a big thank you to our dedicated teaching staff who gave up their weekend to support and guide the students.

A huge well done to all involved, you should be incredibly proud of yourselves!
