From September 2026, Free School Meals are expanding.
All children in households on Universal Credit will be eligible, regardless of income.
Apply now at barnsley.gov.uk/free-school-meals-form.
Transitional protection is ending - some current eligibility may change, and families will be notified directly if this affects them.
These changes aim to give more families the support they need and ensure every child can access a healthy meal at school.
