🌟 We Couldn't Be Prouder of Our Year 11s! 🌟

This morning, our Year 11 students headed into their English Literature exam, and what a fantastic sight it was.

In the hall - revision guides, exercise books, flashcards and notes were everywhere as students made the most of every last minute. More importantly, they were positive, engaged and determined. Students were greeting staff, asking thoughtful questions, discussing key ideas and supporting one another.

The highlight? Some students told us they felt ready. Others said they were excited. That confidence and positivity were incredible to see.

Today they completed their Component 1 exam on Macbeth and Poetry, and honestly, Ms Hodkin, Mrs Sherif, Mrs Storr, and the whole English team were absolutely over the moon with them.
We know this time of year is stressful and challenging, but our students often do not realise just how brilliant they are. Their hard work, resilience and attitude continue to impress us every day.
Year 11, if you keep showing this determination, positivity and commitment, you WILL SUCCEED!

We are so proud of every single one of you. Keep believing in yourselves, keep working hard and keep going.
One English exam down.
Plenty more opportunities to shine.
A whole school cheering you on.

Roll on the next exams! 🎉📚

🌟 So impressed with our Year 10 English students! 🌟

No books. No notes. Just teamwork, memory, and a little bit of Eye of the Tiger! 🐯🎶

Students took part in a fast-paced retrieval challenge, moving between tables every minute and recording everything they could remember about A Christmas Carol, contextual studies and preparation work, Daffodils, Blackberry-Picking, and The School Boy.

By the end of the lesson, the tables were overflowing with knowledge! It was fantastic for students to see just how much they already know and to reflect on their strengths, while identifying the areas they need to focus on next.

Even more encouraging, many students are already creating revision cards and taking the initiative to revise at home. Starting early and revisiting learning regularly will make a huge difference as they continue through Year 10.

A fabulous start to the year and a real credit to themselves. We are incredibly proud of their effort, enthusiasm, and commitment to learning. ⭐📚

Well done, Year 10! 👏
