Our latest Holiday Activity Newsletter is packed with opportunities to help children and young people keep learning, discover new interests and have fun during the October half-term break.
Families can find inspiration for things to do across South Yorkshire, with activities covering creativity, sport, performance, outdoor learning and more, alongside ideas for learning at home. The newsletter also signposts families to a wide range of validated Children’s University Learning Destinations across the region.
There’s lots to explore this half-term, including opportunities to develop...
🎨 Creativity and self-expression through arts, crafts, music, dance and performance.
⚽ Confidence, teamwork and physical wellbeing through sport, movement and active experiences.
🌳 Curiosity and discovery through outdoor learning, exploring local places and trying something new.
🏛️ Knowledge and cultural awareness through museums, libraries, heritage attractions and community venues.
💡 Independence, imagination and problem-solving through our Home Learning Challenges, with lots of different activities to choose from and complete at home.
🎓 Children’s University Credits
All of the activities take place at validated Children’s University Learning Destinations, where children can take part in exciting learning beyond the classroom AND record their learning in their CU Passport to Learning, earning them their CU credits. The newsletter includes Learning Destinations across South Yorkshire, from libraries and museums to sports, performing arts, youth and outdoor learning providers.
If your child attends a Sheffield school but hasn't yet got a CU Passport to Learning, pop along to your nearest Sheffield Library and start your CU journey this half term!
