All students with a learning contract are being contacted by Disabled Student Support to let them know of the support available to them: extra support has been implemented as result of COVID-19. This email includes a graphic I made to help visualize the support.

Myself and the Sheffield Hallam Students' Union Officers have been in talks with the University to try to ensure all disabled students are getting the support you need in the pandemic.

I really hope this news offers comfort and support to everyone, but I understand how challenging things are and have been for many! Any feedback or comments please don't hesitate to get in touch with myself or the SU Officers!

Congrats to all the new part time reps and officers elected today! And our new Disabled Student Rep Jodie who will be taking over the role in a few months!

Disabled Students' COVID-19 Survey 18/03/2021

SURVEY

I've been contacted by an organisation which advocates for accessibility for students with disabilities, who are conducting a survey on the impact COVID-19 has had on their studies and life. If you're interested in filling out the survey here is the information I was provided:

________

Disabled Students UK is a grassroots organisation of current and former disabled students campaigning for improved accessibility in higher education. The Covid 19 pandemic and lockdown has had a huge impact on higher education, and especially disabled students, as such we have created a survey to gather and collate the experiences of disabled students across the UK to raise awareness of issues that UK disabled students have experienced during the pandemic. As well as highlighting what has gone well and finding solutions.

The survey only takes 10-20 minutes and all participants will be anonymous.

The deadline for submission is the 26th April at 5pm.

When we have gathered all the information, we will be publishing a report that will be publicly accessible and which can be used to help inform policy across higher education going forward.
