Here's our lovely Amiellia and Elle' who took their Intermediate Foundation Ballet exam on Sunday. We're so proud of all the hard work they've been doing lately.Attending classes at the world renowned Phoenix Dance on Mondays and performing at Phoenix's home at Northern Ballet in Leeds. They've been attending monthly classes at Ballet Theatre UK in Leicester. They took their Contemporary exam 2 weeks ago with fellow pupils our beautiful Libby and Poppy. At the same time they've been attending Steelpointe every day to learn and self choreograph their pieces for our forthcoming Christmas Shows and they've helped with choreographing and teaching pieces for some of the younger children. We'll done girls. We couldn't be prouder of you. You're absolutely amazing. Xx❤️❤️❤️🥰😀

Here's our amazing Logan doing his Primary Jazz routines along with little sister Keira.Logan started dancing at age 3, the same age as Keira is now. 7 year old Logan attends classes in most of the genres we offer at Steelpointe as he loves his dancing and performing and he's passing on his passion to his sister.Keira attends the First Steps class and she joins Logan in the other genres too.As a result they're both becoming very accomplished dancers for their age. This is why at Steelpointe, we advise attending more than 1 class because the more they move, the better they move in all genres and the gain so much in body awareness and co-ordination, essential elements in the development of technical precision, musicality and performance quality. Well done Logan and Keira. Its rare to find such passion in ones so young. We couldn't be prouder of you. Xx🥰🥰❤️❤️

Mindfulness quote for today.
At Steelpointe Theatre Arts we constantly work to boost and reinforce our performers' self-love and self- belief. It's never been more important than it is today in our post pandemic world and it's part of our job that we take very seriously.

Many congratulations to our lovely Liv. She's just started studying Psychology at Sheffield Hallam and she's landed the role of Helena, in the drama society's production of Midsummer Night's Dream. She was also awarded a role in the society's "Surprise Musical " too. She won't know the show or the role until the night before the show!! 😲Luckily Liv won't be fazed. She's been well prepared by her portrayal of so many major roles in Steepointe's Summer Theatre Workshops where we produce a fully costumed show within 5 days. She's an expert at learning songs dances and dialogue super quick !!!😁😁

Despite her amazing talent which could so easily have taken her to a professional performing career, Liv has chosen to focus on academics for now, alongside teaching at Steelpointe.

During her time at Steelpointe, Liv passed Intermediate ballet and Jazz as well as Intermediate and Grade 8 tap and she started to study for her bbodance teaching qualifications during lockdown at age 16!! She was overqualified for level 3 and proceeded to pass both level 4 and 5, HND level, by the time she was 17. What an amazing achievement!! 🤩🤩We are sooo proud of her. 😍😍😍

Liv is now an extremely hard working and dedicated member of our teaching and production team at Steelpointe. She's proved to be invaluable during our recent production of "Cinderella" at the Montgomery Theatre. As well as playing the title role, she's combined her academic and Steelpointe training to help write the script, edit music, create and teach choreography as well as taking on a plethora of other vital roles. All this while studying for her A levels at which she clearly achieved great success too!!!🤩🤩 It's fabulous to see yet another of our students embracing her Steelpointe education at post-18 and we're soooo glad she's not had to leave us to do it😁😁 You're absolutely awesome Liv and you richly deserve all your success. We couldn't be prouder of you. Xx😁🥰🥰❤️❤️

Wonderful News!!😁 Our gorgeous Isabelle has just completed her first week at KSdance, where she is now studying full-time for a diploma in ballet and theatre arts for three years. On graduation, she will be qualified to audition for professional ballet companies, west end shows, touring musical theatre shows, cruise ships and similar jobs.

Isabelle has been a pupil at Steelpointe (formerly MDTS) since the age of 4.After she successfully auditioned for a place on BBODANCE's ballet associate scheme, a prestigious gifted and talented programme, she was captivated and became determined to work towards a career in dance/performance. She went on to achieve a place on 2 more gifted and talented programmes and by the time she started working for her GCSE's she was spending every evening at Steelpointe doing 2 or 3 classes, sometimes 4; spending all her weekends attending her gifted and talented programmes Most of her school holidays were spent doing holiday courses at Northern Ballet, Tring Park school for Performing Arts Yorkshire Ballet and Elmhurst Ballet School. She continued this throughout the entirety of her GCSE study along with the round of auditioning she had to do to achieve her place at KSdance. She was also awarded a place at BTUK. She passed all her GCSE's with flying colours, achieving mostly 8's and 9's and during her GCSE years she also passed 5 vocational ballet exams, 2 jazz, 2tap and 2 musical theatre exams, all with distinction and distinction*Her greatest achievement was passing her Advanced 1 ballet exam with distinction, after only 6 months study, a massive achievement for a 16 year old!!😁❤️

She's thoroughly enjoying KSdance and absolutely deserves her success after such determination and commitment. Little did we know how steely yet completely grounded the quiet little 4 year old Isabelle would turn out to be. She's absolutely awesome, and she's been a fantastic role model within our school and inspired many others to follow her example. We are amazingly proud of her and wish her all the very best for the future. Here she is pictured with Birmingham Royal Ballet Principal Brandon Lawrence😁😁😁😁❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰 Xx

Hooray!! 😁Beginners Acrodance is starting again tonight at 4-5.30 If you your child is constantly upside down, this is the class for them, to learn how to do acrobatics safely and correctly.Acrodance is very similar to the floor work in gymnastics; acrobatics with dance performed to music. This class is for Age 4 + . It's also great for active children to burn off some energy in a safe environment. Our Acrodancers learn stretching and strengthening exercises too which will support them throughout life. They also develop flexibility and strength which is essential in most dance genres and those children who are very naturally bendy develop the strength they need to support their natural flexibility. It's £8 per class, payable monthly after the first class which is free of charge. If you do more than 1 class per week you get a 25% discount on both classes. You can book a free trial on our website or just come along to our studio at Chapel, 6 Gilpin Street, Philadelphia Sheffield S63BL. It's just off Infirmary Road. So if your child wants to have some fun in a safe environment and keep fit and healthy at the same time bring them along tonight or any Wednesday at 4pm. Xx😁

We did it!!! We finally managed to perform Cinderella at the Montgomery Theatre last Thursday and Friday We were originally supposed to perform it on 18th and 19th July, the hottest 2 days of the heatwave. It was impossible to continue In the intense heat so we had to postpone until early September. It was really hard to keep it all going through the summer as everyone had already made their summer plans around the original show spot and with such a beautiful summer everyone wanted to take advantage of the weather without the Covid restrictions of the past couple of years. Also Daniel, Mercy and Terezka emigrated to Slovakia when school finished for the summer. Daniel was playing Buttons and they resolved to return for the performance. Zoom rehearsals were a bit difficult, however they were true to their word and they returned. Amazing commitment for which we cannot thank their parents enough 😁Everyone rallied in the end to make the performances a resounding success and there were so many parents, former pupils and friends involved in the production side without whom we could not have done the show. From stewarding and chaperoning, to sound engineering, dressmaking, stage managing, follow spotting, painting backdrops and carriage making. Backdrop operating, light engineering Music editing and microphone management. They did it all!!! And we thank them from the bottom of our hearts❤️ Finally all our students were absolutely amazing and really rose to the occasion after so long without such a major performance. We're sooo proud of you all. You were absolutely amazing!! ❤️❤️😁😁😁 We're so proud to have such a dedicated and committed school family and many, many thanks to you all for making it possible ##😁😁😁❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Here's our beautiful Francesca enjoying herself at Elmhurst's Ballet Intensive for which she's been selected for the last 3 years. Francesca, one of 4 siblings who've all attended Steelpointe, (formerly MDTS) has attended the School, since age 4. Now 16 she's leaving us to train at the School of Ballet Theatre UK to start the next step of her dream of becoming a professional ballet dancer. Since the age of 10, Francesca has devoted herself to achieving this dream. As well as intensive training at Steelpointe for several hours every day, she's attended monthly classes at BTUK's gifted and talented scheme, weekly classes at York Dance Scholars and she's spent most of her school holidays attending Intensives at the Northern Ballet Academy, Yorkshire Dance, Tring Park School of Performing Arts, and Elmhurst Ballet School; some of the country's centres of excellence for Ballet. While working for her GCSE's her determination and hard work only increased and as well as her other dance commitments during the last 2 years, she's passed 10 advanced dance exams mostly with distinction, gaining many UCAS credits for them too. Her hard work and commitment has clearly paid off and we couldn't be prouder of the quiet little blonde girl who came through our doors all those years ago. She's become a gorgeous ballet dancer as well as an amazing character actor,Jazz, Musical Theatre, Acro, Contemporary and Tap dancer. She's appearing as one of the stepsisters in our production of Cinderella next week at the Montgomery Theatre a wonderful achievement for such a naturally quiet and reserved young person. Francesca has blossomed during her years at Steelpointe. She remains her own greatest critic and is incredibly grounded despite her success. Francesca's achievements are endless and it's all due to her determination and hard work as well as that of her parents Congratulations Francesca. We're sooo proud of you and we'll miss you so much ###🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

We've just had a very exciting week at Steelpointe with our annual Summer Workshop. We auditioned and rehearsed an hour long version of "The Ice Queen" all within 5 days, auditioning for roles on Monday afternoon and performing the show in costume with backdrops and scenery on Friday afternoon. We had a cast of just 13 students, age 6 to 17. Everyone worked really hard to learn some very complicated songs and dialogue and together they performed like true professionals to an audience of family and friends. We are sooo proud of every one of our students who participated. You were absolutely amazing.
Enormous thanks also to the production team and faculty, who made it all possible, staging, choreographing and organising the whole show as well as working as the backstage crew during the performance. It was their first attempt at such a big project and they did a fantastic job working together as a team. They are all current and former pupils, Liv, Rachel , Tasha and Oskar as well as Nikki Beck. Many thanks to all of you for your professionalism. It's fantastic to have such a great team emerging able to continue the work of the school and preserve our unique ethos and culture. Xx🥰🥰🥰 ❤️❤️❤️

We would like to wish our lovely A level students all the best for their results today. They've worked so hard and kept up their Dance and Theatre classes throughout too. Best of luck everyone. Xx🥰🥰❤️❤️

Just finished the first day of summer school. Well done on the audition everyone!!
