We're less than one week away from the start of our 2025 Seminar Series!

We will be welcoming students to a series of seminars over the next few months to join us in delving into some of the recent research undertaken by lecturers in the School of Geography and Planning Graduate Network.

Our first seminar is hosted by Olayiwola Oladiran on the 'Innovation and Digital Technology in the Built and Natural Environment'.

'The approach to professional practice, operations and services in the built environment is evolving in line with innovation and digital technological advancement. The emergence of terminologies and phenomena such as PlanTech, smart cities, smart buildings, ConTech and PropTech are the results of these. The seminar will provide insight into the wider evolution in the built environment and the digital tools that are reshaping practice (such as big data, advanced analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and virtual reality (VR)'

Hi folks!

This week we'll be doing another trip of a famous Sheffield icon for all you brutalist building lovers - Park Hill! Steeped in local history as a historic landmark housing Sheffields working class residents all the way through to it's modern (and listed status) as a regenerated housing block for students and young professionals with a new vibrant community. Come and join us as we explore the rise, fall and regeneration of one of Britain's most controversial buildings!

And just to top if off we'll be heading to a nearby pub straight after for a light-hearted social, what's more to want?!

Hope to see you all there :)
