Thank you so much Yewlands Academy - their day of wearing house colours for a donation to the foodbank was absolutely incredible. Just look at the amount of food donated. We are so grateful and the people we serve will be too!!!
Thank you for your generosity - something for us to smile about on a Friday morning.
Well done.

Yesterday some of our pupils had an assembly with Simon Haycock from Sam's Army's Mission 1 Life. Five years ago Simon's son, Sam, went swimming in Ulley Country Park with some friends on his last day of school. Unfortunately, Sam didn't return home that day as he drowned after getting into difficulty in the water.
In hot weather it can be tempting to cool off in open water like rivers, lakes and quarries, but Simon reminded pupils of the hidden and unexpected dangers of swimming in such places. His testimony was moving and we urge everyone not to underestimate the risks of entering water during the summer. Even strong swimmers can lose their lives in open water due to cold water shock and unforeseen dangers. Please stay safe and keep out of the water!

Today, we are sending over 12 crates of food to our local food bank thanks to the kind and generous donations of our Yewlands’ families.
Pupils are wearing house colours in exchange for a food donation, ensuring vulnerable people in our community are supported through the summer break.
Thank you all for your support with this initiative today. 🩵
