That’s a wrap on 2026 … ✨

As we reach the end of another wonderful school year, I would like to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to all of our children, families and staff for your continued support, kindness and commitment throughout the year.

It has been a year filled with so many memorable moments. From exciting trips and visits, performances, sporting events and celebrations, to the incredible learning that has taken place in every classroom each day, our children have shown resilience, determination and enthusiasm. They continue to make us proud through the way they live our academy values and support one another.

To our parents and carers, thank you for working in partnership with us. Your encouragement, understanding and support make such a difference, and we are incredibly grateful for the trust you place in us each day.

A very special farewell goes to our Year 6 pupils. You leave us with so many wonderful memories, and it has been a privilege to watch you grow into confident, caring and ambitious young people. As you begin the next chapter of your journey, remember to believe in yourselves, embrace every opportunity and never stop aiming high. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you and wish you every success and happiness at secondary school.

Finally, I hope all of our children and families have a well deserved, restful and enjoyable summer break. Take time to make special memories, stay safe and have lots of fun. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in September, ready for another exciting year together.

🌟Aughton’s Got Talent🌟

This afternoon, our Year 6 pupils hosted a talent show for the rest of the school. Following an audition last week, there were 3-4 acts that performed in the final today.

There was a sense of togetherness across the afternoon through the cheering and supporting one another.

Well done to everyone who took part and a special mention to our joint winners who performed their acts showcasing gymnastics and martial arts skill 🤩

🌟Transition Days 🌟

We would like to say a huge well done to all our children for the fantastic way they have approached their transition to their new classes over the last three days. They have shown great enthusiasm, confidence and maturity as they have got to know their new teachers and classroom environments.

Thank you also to all parents and carers who attended the Meet the Teacher sessions. We greatly value your support and partnership, and it was wonderful to have the opportunity to share information with you about the coming year and answer any questions.

We are confident that the children will continue to thrive in September 🌟

Transition to New Classes … ✏️

What a fantastic start we have had to our first transition day! It has been wonderful to see all of our children settling into their new classes so well. There is a calm, happy atmosphere across our academy, with children reconnecting with friends, meeting their new teachers and embracing the year ahead.

This morning, children from year 1 to 6 enjoyed an assembly with Miss Burgin, where she shared the story ‘What We’ll Build’ by Oliver Jeffers. This is our focus text in English this week and will help us think about our aspirations, hopes and goals for the year ahead.

Our new FS2 children have had a brilliant start, exploring their new classroom and beginning to feel at home while the year 1 children were in assembly.

A very warm welcome to all our new children and their families. We are delighted to have you as part of our Aughton community and can’t wait to see all that the children achieve this year.

We will continue to use Class Dojo to share updates, reminders and celebrations from across the academy. Please take a moment to read our Class Dojo terms of use, which can be found on the academy website.

Thank you for your continued support - we are looking forward to another fantastic year ahead 🤩

🎓✨ What a fantastic Year 6 Leavers’ Assembly! ✨🎓

A huge congratulations to our amazing Year 6 pupils for putting on such a brilliant leavers’ assembly today! 🌟

Every single one of you performed with confidence and courage in front of a packed audience, making us all incredibly proud. It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on your time at Aughton Primary Academy, celebrate your achievements and look ahead to the exciting adventures that await you. ❤️

Following the assembly, each pupil was presented with a special Leavers’ Certificate to recognise their journey and achievements. They then enjoyed celebrating together with 🧁 cupcakes, 🥤 pop and treats, received a commemorative Leavers’ wristband, and had lots of fun capturing memories in our 📸 360 Photo Booth!

Thank you to our families for joining us to celebrate this special milestone and for your continued support throughout your children’s primary school journey.

Year 6, you have been an incredible year group and wonderful role models. We are so proud of each and every one of you and know you will go on to achieve amazing things. 🌟

Good luck in your next chapter – you’ll always be part of the Aughton family. 💙💛

📚🦁 Celebrating Our Reading Competition Winners! 🦁📚

Over the past few weeks, our children have been taking part in a special Reading Competition, celebrating a love of books and positive reading habits. Every child who entered completed a book review based on a book they loved to read, and all completed entries were entered into a prize draw. 🌟

We were delighted to reward three winners from FS/KS1 and three winners from KS2 with a very special trip to Meadowhall! 🎉

The winners enjoyed an unforgettable experience, including:
🦁 Going inside the window display to meet the beautiful lion cub up close.
🍟 Choosing a well-deserved treat from McDonald’s.
📚 Visiting Waterstones, where they selected brand-new books for our school library so that all of our children can enjoy them.
🖊️ Choosing a special pen to take home as a reward for their fantastic achievement.

We are incredibly proud of every child who took part. Their enthusiasm for reading has been wonderful to see, and we hope this competition has inspired even more children to pick up a book and discover the joy of reading. 📖❤️

A huge thank you to our families for supporting reading at home and helping us nurture a lifelong love of books. Together, we are creating confident, enthusiastic readers who know that reading really can take you anywhere! 🌍✨

👏 Congratulations once again to all of our winners—you thoroughly deserved your special day! 💙
