🌟Aughton x School Games🌟

We were thrilled to be asked by School Games to pilot a parent and play session for our Year 5 and 6 children and their families.

The playground and field were set up with Kerby 🏐 (with thanks to Yard Ball), a driving range and mini 4-hole putting challenge using Golfway equipment ⛳️ and target challenges using Bowls Buddies set 🎯. All the activities were designed to drop in and play, with no prior experience or interest needed.

Some families stayed for 5 minutes, some stayed for 50 minutes. Some were competitive while some worked as a team 🌟

A big thanks to David Walker from School Games for organising and running our session.

⚽️ Utilita Half time Cup ⚽️

We are incredibly proud of the children who took part in the Half Time Cup on Saturday at RUFC.

They showed determination and skill and kept it to a 0-0 draw until the last minute when the opposition scored two brilliant goals.

Well done, you represented our school with brilliantly today, showing fantastic manners, sportsmanship and battling from start to finish.

We couldn’t have asked for a better effort – well done!

Learning takes place beyond the classroom at Aughton Primary Academy.

Our outdoor learning environment gives children space to explore, play, move and spend time with their friends. Time outdoors also supports physical activity and wellbeing, while giving children opportunities to learn through play.

🧱What We’ll Build - Whole School Learning 🧱

In transition week in July, the children in every class completed some English writing linked to the Oliver Jeffers book ‘What We’ll Build’. They talked about their dreams and aspirations, setting some personal goals.

The art work was focussed on the book ‘The Dot’ with each class taking the inspiration on a different direction.

As part of their history unit, year 6 were set a task of creating an air raid shelter for their home learning.

We were blown away by the models the children brought in, down to the fine details and careful thought that had gone in to them.

A huge thank you for your support at the MacMillan coffee morning!

For the second year running, it has been a huge success and together we have raised money for a fantastic cause. We are so grateful to everyone who helped by baking, donating, joining us and buying cake/ drinks and also to those who jumped in to help serve drinks and clear away at the end. Thank you all!

We will be announcing the winners of most of the competitions this afternoon in our assembly however we will continue to sell raffle tickets in the playground after school for anyone who would still like to buy some for £1 a strip. The raffle will be drawn on Monday.

Due to the large amount of donations brought in, we still have some treats to sell - these will be sold on the playground at the end of the day with everything being priced at 50p/£1.

💚🌿MacMillan Coffee Morning 🌿💚

This week, many of the children will bring home a poster/ invitation for our MacMillan Coffee morning on Friday, here are a few that have been created 📢

Please support our fundraising efforts by bringing along friends, neighbours and/ or family - the more, the merrier! The children have been encouraged to share their poster to help raise awareness of the event. 😃

We are asking for donations of home made treats or shop bought treats to sell in order to help us to raise as much for the MacMillan charity as we can. 🎂 🍰 🍪 🧁

It’s also a fabulous excuse for a catch up, a chat and a chance to share time with your child/ren in school time. ☕️
