We had our full day session on Sunday and, as always, the time seemed to go in the blink of an eye. There was lots of laughter and plenty of tea and coffee throughout the day as well as lots of lovely projects being worked on.

Probably our favourite thing about running over the last couple of years is seeing the friendships that have grown amongst people whose paths possibly wouldn't have crossed without these sessions existing. Shirley and Catherine share a love of dressmaking and bags decided to have their own sew along yesterday. They used the leftovers from Catherine's needlecord culottes and a selection of fabrics from their stash to make themselves a bestie bag by and Shirley cut a couple more out to make for her daughters. It was lovely to see them having fun cutting out the pattern pieces and then working through the pattern together and adding their own sense of style to each bag.
If you have a sewing buddy and you'd like to work on a project together without having to rearrange your entire house to fit in both sewing machines then why not come along to one of our monthly sessions. There is a large cutting table, 2 ironing stations and plenty of room for everyone to have their own large table to set their machine up on and still be next to each other. We'll keep your energy levels up with plenty of hot drinks and home baked goodies.

Have you got an urge to knit your own socks but don’t know where to start? Our 3 steps to socks workshop teaches you all you need to know to be able to knit a pair of adult sized socks using circular needles. The cost of the workshop includes 3 lessons, yarn in a colour of your choice and circular needles. You can pick the date and time you want to come for each of the 2 hour lessons and can choose to make socks with either 4ply sock yarn or double knitting yarn. If you’d like more information or want to book your first lesson please drop us a DM or call into Busy Fingers Shop . This workshop can be done on a one to one basis or why not choose a date to come along with a friend and learn a new skill together. We can also personalize a gift voucher for this workshop if you’d like to treat someone. ☀️

I haven't had my paints out much this year as painting was something I used to do with my fabulous friend, Helen, who we sadly said goodbye to in April. Today I needed to get my pens out of the cupboard and came across this painting I did at the last workshop we went to and decided that today was the day to get it finished so that I can hang it in my sewing corner. I bet she's looking down and saying "about time"! Do you have crafts that you do with your friends or that remind you of them? ☀️

It's been a while since I got chance to spend any time with my sewing machine but last week I managed to grab a couple of hours and some fabric from my stash and made 3 puffy bow bag charms using the tutorial from .runway that Instagram had kindly suggested to me. The tutorial was really easy to follow and didn't take that much fabric. I repurposed a sleeve from one of hubbys old shirts for the stripy one and the purple fabric is from a sundress that my daughter wore about 20 years ago so is probably classed as vintage! She can't remember the dress but was happy to claim the stripy bow for her work bag. I'm sure there will be more bows being made in the run up to Christmas as they'll make cute embellishments and you all know how I like to jazz up a gift bag. Will you try this pattern?☀️

There's just over a week until our next full day session when we will be at the Inman pavilion on 4th October from 10am-4pm. If you enjoy sewing why not come along and join us for the day with a friendly group of stitchers. There is no formal teaching but we are all enthusiastic self taught stitchers who are happy to help each other out. Sharing knowledge is key to improving your skills and is positively encouraged within our group. Bring your sewing machine and project and we will set you up with your own large table so you'll have plenty of room to work without having to rearrange any furniture. We also have a large cutting table and 2 ironing stations for you to use. We'll provide breakfast treats in the morning and plenty of hot drinks throughout the day and home bakes to keep your energy levels up during the afternoon. You can also use the time to work on any other crafting you don't sew as we will have an area set up for those who want to knit, crochet, paint or whatever else they want to do☀️

On Friday I spotted an ad on Instagram for a slow stitching workshop at Rother Valley taking place yesterday morning. Luckily the stars aligned and there were places still available and my best friend had the day off so we headed there for a morning of creativity. After meeting and admiring her amazing work we got to create our own pieces and enjoy a cuppa and lots of chat with the other ladies who were there. This was the first workshop Bev has run there but she's hoping to make it a regular event. We can definitely recommend it as an enjoyable and relaxing way to spend the morning. Lunch in the cafe afterwards was an added bonus ☀️

Well what a lovely way to spend a Sunday morning. Bolsterstone Quilters show is always something we look forward to visiting with our friends as the displayed work is stunning as is the refreshment table!
Well done to everyone involved in organising the event. It was a pleasure to see all your fantastic work

There's still time to book a place on our workshop! A handmade would make a fabulous Christmas gift that will be cherished by the lucky recipient. With this in mind we are very excited to announce that we have arranged another workshop. It will be on Sunday 4th October at the Inman pavilion. This will be a full day workshop and each participant will receive their own copy of the book (which includes the patterns) and an official CoolCrafting kit to make their own rabbit. The tickets are £60 each which includes refreshments and tuition as well as the book and materials.
