🐾 Gruffalo Granny in the Forest 🌲

This week the children have been loving the new Gruffalo Granny book and have become little forest detectives, searching high and low for any traces she may have left behind! 👀🍂🐾

Inspired by the story, they gathered sticks, leaves and all sorts of forest treasures to make their very own Gruffalo stew. 🥣🌿

They worked together, chatting and pretending as they carefully mixed their ingredients. Then came the exciting idea: “Let’s build a fire!” 🔥

A wonderful week of imagination, teamwork and a little bit of Gruffalo magic! ✨🐾🌳

🍅 Little gardeners at work! 👨‍🌾

We've had lots of fun harvesting the tomatoes from our vegetable garden! 🌱 The children explored the different colours, talked about how they change as they ripen, and shared ideas about what we could make with them.

Something delicious is coming… 👀

🚜🚧 Tractors, excavators and busy little builders! 🚧🚜

We had some very exciting visitors drive past the nursery this week, as work was taking place nearby. The children were fascinated and, understandably, very disappointed when we explained they couldn’t come out of the nursery gates to climb aboard and lend a hand! 😂

Of course, safety came first, so we kept everyone safely inside and well away from the work area while they watched the action from a safe distance. 👷‍♀️🦺

Once back inside, we decided to recreate the excitement ourselves! Our toy diggers, tractors and excavators came out, and the children got straight to work in the sensory tray and at the play dough station...digging, building, scooping and pretending to be the hardest-working construction crew around! 🚜

Did you miss us? 💚

We’ve had a little pause from social media while we took some time to reflect on some recent news articles and carry out some further research of our own.

After careful consideration, we’ve made the decision that, moving forward, we will no longer share photographs of children’s faces on our social media pages.

We know how much our families love seeing what their little ones have been getting up to at nursery, and we absolutely love sharing those special moments too. Whilst we have always had full parental consent to share photographs, we feel this is the right decision for us when it comes to safeguarding and protecting our little ones online. 💚

Don’t worry though, you’ll still get to see all the wonderful things your children are doing! We will continue to share their learning, adventures and achievements with you through Tapestry, where observations can be shared privately and securely with your family.

We’ll be leaving our previous posts on our page, but from now on, we’ll be keeping those gorgeous little faces off our social media. 📵👶💚

Thank you, as always, for your continued support and understanding. We’re looking forward to getting back to sharing all the lovely things happening at Willow Tree! 🌿✨

Lots of love,
The Willow Tree Team x
