it isn't a real fell run unless...
1) you have at least one kilometre that takes you more than 10 minutes to get through
2) there's blood on you and you don't know where from
3) you put your foot somewhere that looked solid and now your whole leg has been devoured by the bog creature that lives in the hills

i'm not creepy
Gotta let the body recover
After a hard effort, your body is weaker. It is more susceptible to injury and illness. In order to get back to consistent training asap, we need to give ourselves enough time to recuperate.
Be kind to yourself and take the downtime you need to recover!

Here to see if you have a moment to talk about our lord and saviour: Strength Training.
It's not scary, I promise. Come to the gym, come here and lift things.

This week's drop in session!
At a loose end and need to chat about training or injury issues? Need some form advice? I'll have a spare hour at the gym today where I will be available to talk to 👍

Fantastic Race Result!
Recently, Jim ran the Rowbotham's Round Rotherham 50 Mile race. We were confident he had a sub 10 hour time in him, but despite the rough weather on the day, he went beyond and pushed under the 9 and a half hour mark for 14th place overall.
Jim sees me once a month for a check in where I update his strength program and make sure everything is as it should be. As his focus is long off-road events, his strength program is tailored towards this. To support his running training and keep him robust, so that he can stay injury free and reach the start line of each event healthy and ready to run well.
Coaching is a collaborative endeavour and Jim is basically a dream client. He does everything he's told (even when I make him do front squats) and he manages his overall training load really well alongside a fairly uneven work schedule in a physical job. A program can only be truly successful through consistency and Jim makes my job feel pretty easy when I'm putting his program together.
His effort at RRR was fantastic and I am excited to be a part of his build towards taking on The Fellsman in April.
