Early Years at Reignhead

The children in FS2 had some exciting visitors today as part of our 'People Who Help Us' topic. We listened to all of the different jobs the police do every day. We got to try on lots of different hats and helmets - some were really heavy. But our favourite part was exploring the police van! We heard the sirens and experienced what it would be like to sit in the back if we were arrested! Thank you South Yorkshire Police we had great fun!

Our Nursery children have loved the 're-vamped' music area this week. It has been very popular with children choosing and singing their favourite Nursery Rhymes using the props. The spider was a particular favourite! They have also been experimenting with the different sounds they can make with the instruments.

The children in Reception have really enjoyed exploring our wonderful new outdoor provision over the last couple of weeks. We have been practising our balancing skills and developing our core strength on the monkey bars.

Wow! What a fantastic Sports Day we have had in Nursery today! Lots of concentration, teamwork and stamina. We loved that you all had a go at every activity and the way you cheered for your team mates! Well done!

We are looking forward to our new topic next half term 'Beside the Seaside.' I wonder if any of our Nursery children will visit the seaside over half term? If you do - we would love to see some photos - we can use them in our learning!

Our Teddy Bear Hospital opened this week and the children have been busy bandaging, taking temperatures and giving the bears some TLC. We reflected on learning from our 'People Who Help Us' topic from half term one, as the children took on the role of doctors and nurses.
