We’ve had a fantastic week getting to know our newest trainees during Familiarisation 2026! Now it's time for them to spread their wings as they continue on the next step of their teacher training journey. 🤩 Best of luck everyone!
Earlier this week, our trainees took part in Serbian sessions at Familiarisation, giving them the chance to experience what it feels like to learn a completely new subject from a pupil’s perspective.
Hear how the experience gave them a different view of learning and how they can use what they’ve learned to shape their own maths and physics teaching.

We had a great day yesterday at Familiarisation!
Our trainees learned about practical classroom strategies and even took on the challenge of learning Serbian.
Learning a completely new subject gave them a chance to experience what it feels like to be a student again. They gained a better understanding of the challenges pupils can face when learning something new, which they can take with them into the classroom when teaching maths and physics.
Another brilliant day of learning, sharing and preparing for their teaching journey!

It’s been a brilliant first day at familiarisation! Today, we welcomed our new trainees as they begin their teacher training journey.
It was lovely to see everyone together in person for the first time. Our trainees had the chance to meet the people they will be training with, get to know each other and meet the team.
They also took part in their first training sessions, shared ideas and started learning together as they prepare for life in the classroom.
It was so lovely to see such a positive and enthusiastic group come together, and we’re looking forward to the rest of the week!
Day one complete...the journey has only just begun! 😃
Familiarisation is here! A very warm welcome to all our new trainees.
We are so excited to have them with us and to officially begin what we hope will be a fantastic year of learning, growing and new experiences. We have lots of exciting activities planned this week to help them feel prepared and ready to start their teacher training journey.
It’s a real privilege to be part of their journey into teaching, and we are delighted to support them as they begin this new chapter.
We can’t wait to see what they will achieve over the year.
