Two studios - R1SE Brook Place in Sharrow, and R1SE Urban Spa on Kelham Island. 25+ session types running seven days a week: Hot Yoga, Vinyasa, Yin, Reformer Pilates, Mat Pilates, Barre, Aerial, Weighted Yoga, Wheel, Breathwork and Sound Baths. Plus a full recovery spa: ice baths, infrared sauna, Finnish sauna, hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), red light therapy, PEMF and compression therapy. Researchers studying what protects the ageing brain - against Alzheimer’s, against dementia, against the slow drift of cognitive decline - keep coming back to the same answer: dance. Not running. Not lifting. Dancing. The reason is specific. It’s the combination of three things - movement, music, and repetition - that grows new connections in the brain in a way that ordinary exercise doesn’t. Music gives the rhythm. Repetition lays the pattern. Movement seals it in. Barre is, structurally, exactly this.
