In yoga, Ätman isnāt your body, your thoughts or your identity.
Itās the quiet awareness that witnesses them all.
We spend so much of life trying to become someoneā¦
But yoga suggests something different.
Perhaps the truest version of you isnāt something you buildā¦itās something you uncover.
As you breathe and move today, notice what changesā¦
and notice what remains.

Here is a breakdown of Sirsasana A & B ( Bound and Tripod Headstand).
I hope this makes the pose a little easier to understand. Itās never easy to fit everything into one short reel, but hopefully it gives you a good starting point.
( Make sure you donāt ājumpā into the headstand!)
If you have any questions, or there is anything youād like me to explain in more detail, just come and find me on the mat. Iām always happy to talk yoga. š¤
And if thereās another pose youād like me to break down, let me know in the comments. Iād love to hear your ideas.

As a student of yoga for the last 14 years, Iāve had the privilege of practising with teachers from all over the world, in the UK, Poland, Gran Canaria, Greece, Mauritius, Thailand, India, and beyond.
Some of these teachers have left a profound mark on my life.
Sometimes we can feel a deep connection with a teacher. Sometimes we are inspired by them.
Sometimes we admire a teacher so deeply that we begin to confuse the awakening happening within us with the person standing at the front of the room.
But there is also another side to this. Sometimes teachers or gurus have misused positions of trust. Perhaps they underestimated just how deeply these connections can affect both sides.
A teacherās role is to guide people back to themselves, not to become the centre of their world.
Iāve been fortunate that the vast majority of teachers Iāve met have acted with integrity and professionalism.
And having experienced this relationship from both sides, as a student and as a teacher, I also believe that with the privilege of teaching comes responsibility.
We are all human. We all have egos, wounds, attractions and blind spots. That is exactly why self-awareness is so important.
Perhaps one of the greatest signs of a good teacher is not how many followers they have, but how gently they remind you that your own wisdom matters too.
Teachers come into our lives for a reason, a season, or sometimes a lifetime.
But the practice has always been about finding your way back home to yourself. š
This topic fascinated me enough to write an article about it for OM Yoga Magazine . If youād like to explore it further, youāll find the link in my bio.

Happy International Yoga Day āØš
Yoga means UNION.
For some, it is the union of mind, body and soul.
For others, it is the connection between breath and movement.
But today is an invitation to recognise that yoga, union, means something deeper.
THAT WE ARE NOT SEPARATE.
That beneath our different stories, backgrounds and beliefs, we are all interconnected and sharing this human experience together.
In yoga philosophy, this understanding is called Advaita, non-duality, the idea that the separation we often feel is an illusion.
The real practice of yoga is not just what happens on the mat, but how we relate to ourselves, to each other and to the world around us.
And perhaps from this understanding naturally arises Ahimsa, non-harming, because when we recognise our connection, kindness and compassion become a way of being.
Wishing you a beautiful International Yoga Day all the way from the Tatra Mountainsš¤š.

Yoga has many aspects.
And one of them is self-awareness, a way of living.
We spent the last few days on kayaks and rafts with my family and friends, and I found myself explaining that yoga is not limited to a yoga mat or physical movement.
Yoga is the practice of becoming more aware of yourself, through breath, movement, and presence.
And in todayās world, being fully present is becoming more and more challenging.
Our minds are constantly busy.
Thinking. Planning. Scrolling. Worrying. Replaying conversations. Living somewhere between the past and the future.
We become so distracted by life that we slowly forget how to simply be in the now.
Sometimes presence can be found in silence. Sometimes in nature. Sometimes in movement.
And sometimes in moments shared with people, laughter, water, adventure, and complete disconnection from the noise of everyday life.
And this is yoga too. š
Twists support the body in a very practical way.
From standing twists like Kati Chakrasana,
to stronger shapes like Twisted Goddess Pose,
and softer variations like a simple seated spinal twist- Parivritta Sukhasana, they all bring their own benefits.
⢠Twists can help relieve constipation by gently stimulating digestion.
⢠They strengthen and improve flexibility through the spine and waist.
⢠They engage the arms and legs, while opening the neck and shoulders.
⢠They support the abdominal muscles and lower back.
⢠Twist cal also support the breath, creating more space for the lungs to expand.
In yoga, twists are often linked to the solar plexus, the Manipuri chakra, the centre of inner power and confidence.
Twists are especially helpful if you spend long hours sitting or working at a desk.
Sometimes the simplest movements are the ones your body needs the most.šŖļøšš§āāļø
