Demonstration Design of the Week!

This week our tutor Abby has been showcasing a glued wrist corsage for our Level 2 apprentices. It is created from a base using aluminium wire which is an alternative to a wired wrist corsage.

This design can be matched to any wedding or prom outfit.

Materials included - layered and cupped Hedera helix, Phalaenopsis Orchids, Ornithogalum arabicum, grouped Chrysanthemum indicum, Asparagus setaceus, Kalanchoe blossfeldiana pips, Muehlenbeckia complexa, Haworthia fasciata leaves.

💐 We’re excited to share some big news from us all at The Floristry School 💐

We’ve partnered with EMC – European Master Certification to bring a truly unique
educational opportunity to students who have completed their Level 4 or Level 5
qualification and are ready to take the next step in their floral career.

Developed in Belgium and delivered internationally for over a decade, the EMC curriculum has now been thoughtfully adapted for students in the UK.

The European Master Certification course is divided into Part 1 and Part 2, with graduates who successfully complete both achieving the prestigious EMCdesigner title.

This inspiring programme combines online theory and feedback sessions, practical
assignments, exams, and creative challenges designed to stretch and develop designers.

Core modules explore topics including nature and growth mindset, structure and construction, gestalt, tension and emotion - all helping students create progressive, innovative floral designs.

A new chapter in floral education begins here ✨

Demonstration Design of the Week!

Wired design work is an essential skill which is taught and built on throughout all the levels of floristry we teach.

From the humble buttonhole to the wired circlet bridal head dress to this beautifully executed fully wired shower style bouquet incorporating some wonderful burgundy Zantedeschia - demonstrated to our apprentices this week. Beautiful!

The Level 3 Apprentices have been visited by Nicola Armstrong from The Bloom
Room in Cumbria . Nicola designs the most superb floral tributes using figurative form as her inspirations.

Here at the Floristry School, we often bring in experts who are flower forward in their
designing to inspire and encourage our students to work to the highest standards
possible.

Demonstration Design of the week!

Our students are on half term from College this week, so our demonstration design of the week is from last week’s Level 3 session.

Gluing is an essential technique used by all our students. The Smithers Oasis floral glue is a must in any florist toolbox. Our tutor demonstrated the first design using
horizontal wooden downing and the students developed their own style of jeweller.
