As the school year comes to an end, we would like to wish all of our pupils, families and staff a wonderful summer break.
Thank you for being part of another fantastic year. Together, we have celebrated achievements in classrooms, on sports fields, on stages, in competitions, on trips and in our local communities. Most importantly, we have seen our pupils grow in confidence, character and ambition.
We hope everyone enjoys a well-earned rest and has the opportunity to make special memories over the summer.
We are already looking forward to welcoming everyone back in September and to another year filled with learning, opportunity and success.
Have a brilliant summer from everyone at Woodlands Primary School and Mercia Learning Trust.

School Games Gold Mark Award π
We are delighted to share that Woodlands Primary School has been awarded the School Games Gold Mark for 2025β26.
This national award recognises schools that provide high-quality sporting opportunities and encourage children to develop a lifelong love of being active.
Over the past year, our children have represented Woodlands in a huge range of activities, including gymnastics, football, cross country, cricket, hockey, netball, basketball, ice skating and Panathlon events. They have also taken part in city athletics, cycling competitions, the Colour Smash and our annual Sports Day.
Most importantly, they have demonstrated the School Games values of determination, teamwork, respect, honesty, passion and self-belief every step of the way.
We are incredibly proud of all our children and would like to thank our staff, families and partners for their continued support.

Year 6 had a brilliant day on Friday at the Crucible theatre performing a play by each class in the Playhouse studio theatre.
This is a culmination of weeks of hard work to get the plays stage ready, and we're so proud of how hard they've worked together!
We are incredibly lucky in our trust to have the opportunity year on year to work with Sheffield Theatres professionals and have these amazing experiences for our children.
Did you come and see the show? What was your favourite bit?

As we approach the summer holidays, we wanted to make families aware of the government's Summer Savings scheme, which brings together information on discounts and offers available across the UK during the summer break.
The website includes family attractions, cultural activities, meal offers and information about free bus travel for children aged 15 and under during August.
More information can be found here:
https://summersavings.gov.uk/
We hope this is a useful resource for our families as they plan for the summer holidays.
